Vernon Robinson Update

As my wonderful readers know, I have posted twice now about Vernon Robinson, Republican candidate for Congress in North Carolina.

Here and here.

Vernon is a Republican who is actually conservative, not one of the spineless capitulators we have in Congress now.

And he's black.

In the world of the leftists, African-Americans cannot be conservative; the two are mutually exclusive. The "Party of Tolerance" is attacking Mr. Robinson for being black and a Republican... That sounds like racism to me!
The vicious personal attacks against Vernon have become so outrageous and vitriolic that North Carolina Democrat Party Chairman Jerry Meeks issued a statement yesterday in which he wrote: "[Democrat State Supreme Court candidate] Rachel Lea Hunter crossed the line. Her characterization of Robinson as a ëslave' was reprehensible and I call on her to apologize. This racial epithet has no place in any political dialogue ...." Meeks was compelled to take the unprecedented step of publicly admonishing his own party's nominee for statewide office after Ms. Hunter sent out an email to thousands of North Carolinians yesterday (6/6/06) in which she wrote: "Vernon Robinson -- The Republican 666 Beast ... Like a good slave, he has returned to the plantation. I am sorry to use that metaphor, but his actions are like that of a slave saying ëI'll be good from now on, Massa.'" The "plantation" Hunter referred to is the Republican Party. Ms. Hunter believes that black citizens should stay in the Jim Crow Democrat Party rather than return to the Party of Lincoln.

You know Mr. Robinson has to be good when the libs resort to these sorts of tactics!
