So this is what the Democrats mean by supporting our troops...

Noah's Ark In Holland?

A Dutch Creationist (I think that's a PC way of saying Christian.) has built a half-sized replica of Noah's Ark.

The Ark (remember, half-sized) is three stories tall, and 225 feet tall. It is open to the public with life-sized models of animals.

Johan Huibers built the ark as a testament to his literal belief in the Bible... And I, for one, am impressed!

Isn't She Lovely?

Saudi tribe holds camel beauty pagent?

This week, the Qahtani tribe of western Saudi Arabia has been welcoming entrants to its Mazayen al-Ibl competition, a parade of the "most beautiful camels" in the desolate desert region of Guwei'iyya, 120 km (75 miles) west of Riyadh.

Sounds hot...

Iran Nuclear In Four Years?

Could Iran be nuclear in a few short years?

Scientists at Sussex University speculate that Iran could be producing weapons-grade uranium in four years, and in eight they could be able to deploy an operational nuclear weapon.

That's a lot longer than Ahmadinejad would have us believe, but too soon as far as I'm concerned!

"It's very difficult to enrich uranium," said Norman Dombey, emeritus professor of theoretical physics at Sussex University. "It calls for several different scientific and engineering disciplines. Iran hasn't yet shown that it has mastered the problem."

------------------------

But the smallest particle of dust - even a fingerprint - can disrupt enrichment. Iran will have to spin all the centrifuges inside a vacuum without any interruption for a period of about one year.

If any machine breaks down - or if dust enters the system or if the power supply is lost - the process must halt and start again.

Prof Dombey estimates that Iran will need about two years simply to master the process of running centrifuges. Then, making allowances for interruptions caused by breakdowns, it could take another two years to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for one bomb.

Prof Dombey said: "At the moment, their programme doesn't constitute a threat. It would constitute a threat if they were enriching substantial amounts to more than five per cent and they're not. In fact they're not enriching anything very much. This talk about industrial scale enrichment is misleading."

Despite Mr Ahmadinejad's public threat to wipe it from the map, Israel also plays down the progress that Iran has made. On Sunday, Ehud Olmert, the prime minister, said: "Iran is far from attaining the technology threshhold and this country is not close to getting it, contrary to statements by its leadership."

---------------------------------------

So let me get this straight... Diplomacy is nothing more than a stall tactic for Iran, who is less than a decade (if we're lucky) from possibly deploying a nuke. Ahmadenijad has sworn to "wipe Israel from the map," and Olmert isn't the slightest bit concerned?

Am I the only one who's got a bad feeling about all of this?

Kryptonite: For Real?

Scientists have reportedly found Kryptonite in Serbia...

From CNN.com:

Stanley, who revealed the identity of the mysterious new mineral, discovered the match after searching the Internet for its chemical formula - sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide.

"I was amazed to discover that same scientific name written on a case of rock containing kryptonite stolen by Lex Luther from a museum in the film Superman Returns," he said.

The substance has been confirmed as a new mineral after tests by scientists at the Natural History Museum in London and the National Research Council in Canada.

But instead of the large green crystals in Superman comics, the real thing is a white, powdery substance which contains no fluorine and is non-radioactive.

The mineral, to be named Jadarite, will go on show at the London's Natural History Museum at certain times of the day on Wednesday, April 25, and Sunday, May 13.

"Peaceful" Islamists On Trial For Murdering Bible Publishers

You've gotta love the tolerance and peacefulness of Islamofascists... While we dirty kuffars aren't even allowed to touch the Koran that we willingly provide for them in Gitmo, they're not only restricting ownership of the Bible in Islamic countries, they're killing the publishers.

Amazingly, in Turkey, the authorities are actually taking the murderers of three Christian Bible publisher to trial! I can't wait to see what sort of sentence they'll get if convicted...

I wonder if the jihadis realize that these three Christians are very definition of a martyr... They were murdered for their religious beliefs by others; they didn't kill themselves while slaughtering other innocent people.

From Breitbart.com:

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - A court jailed five suspects Sunday on murder charges linked to the killings of three Christians who were tied up and had their throats slit at a publishing house which had drawn protests by nationalists for distributing Bibles.
Six others were released pending trial, the court said. It was unclear what charges the six faced and a trial date has not yet been set. A 12th suspect, who tried to escape from police by jumping from a fourth-floor balcony at the scene of the killings, remains hospitalized in stable condition and was expected to be charged later.

The three victims—a German man and two Turks who converted to Christianity—were killed Wednesday at a Christian publishing house in Malatya.

The attack added to concerns in Europe about whether the predominantly Muslim country—which is bidding for European Union membership—can protect its religious minorities.

Christians make up just a fraction of 1 percent of Turkey's population of 71 million.

Here's a quote from one of the murderers:

"We didn't do this for ourselves, but for our religion," Hurriyet newspaper quoted a suspect as saying. "Our religion is being destroyed. Let this be a lesson to enemies of our religion."

Religion of peace? Hmmmm....

Emergency Protection That Works!

Hey, Virginia Democrats... Instead of supporting the obvious failure of "Gun-Free Zones," how about you spring for a few of these safety boxes?

Freak Cho's "Manifesto"

So the vile little bastard Cho records a bunch of insane, incoherent nonsense about his upcoming bloodbath, express mails it to NBC, and thanks to those bastards, the little bastard gets even more publicity.

From The East Side says it all.

How long do you think that NBC "struggled" with the decision to release that footage? 1o, maybe 12 seconds?

How shameful.

Pucker Up, Baby!

From al-Reuters:

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - An Israeli woman accidentally bit off part of her boyfriend's tongue during a heated French kiss, an Israeli hospital that reattached the tongue said Thursday.

Nahariya Hospital said in a statement the man, injured while "passionately kissing his girlfriend," was discharged after the operation and advised to sip iced drinks and "avoid wet kisses" until the stitched wound healed.

Wow! I wonder if his girlfriend looked like this:

Campus Massacre

Our prayers and thoughts are with the victims that were murdered at Virginia Tech yesterday.

I am forced to wonder if things might have turned out differently, and if those students would have been truly safe had the State government not gone against our Second Amendment.

One thing I never have understood; If you want to kill yourself, FINE. But how is it that this guy was SO EVIL that he had to take 32 people with him?

Get Ready To Pay More Taxes...

What's this? I thought we could afford $20 billion in pork on the farcical troop spending bill, but now we can't afford to keep Bush's tax cuts?

This wouldn't be an instance of spiteful hypocrisy by the Democrats, would it? Noooo...

This childish "everything you do is wrong" attitude of the Dems is going to cost the average American household an additional $2,641 per year in taxes.

But hey, you can afford it. After all, Pelosi needs that big plane, and trips to Syria, and so on...

Does The Koran Come With A Compass?

Most folks can figure out which way is North, and therefore, East... Unless you're a Dutch cop or Muslim, that is. I wonder if any riots are on their way?

From al-Reuters:

The Segbroek police station in The Hague borrowed the idea of putting compass marks on ceilings from an Amsterdam hotel, the Dutch daily De Telegraaf reported on Friday.

Muslims pray five times a day, facing east in the direction of Mecca. But the arrows in Segbroek pointed west.

"This is a really gigantic, stupid blunder," a police spokesman told the De Telegraaf.

"The faulty compass marks have been immediately corrected. It is a mystery for us how this could have possibly happened."

All other police cells in the Dutch capital will soon get similar compass marks, the in-house newspaper of The Hague police said.

The Netherlands is home to 1 million Muslims out of a population of more than 16 million.

I wonder if the painter wasn't someone who was a little sick of Eurabian dhimmitude? HA!

What Does It Take?

Getting our government to follow its own antiquated and inadequate rule of law concerning illegal immigrants is nigh unto impossible.

My own county is one of the few exceptions, being one of only seven COUNTIES in the nation with the power to deport.

In Los Angeles, the LAPD is being sued over its long policy of looking the other way when it comes to determining the immigration status of a detained suspect.

From this source:

The department prohibits officers from inquiring about the immigration status of suspects, a policy strongly supported by Police Chief William Bratton and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

The lawsuit was brought on behalf of unidentified police officers who are afraid to speak out but argue the policy creates a situation where the same illegal immigrants are repeatedly arrested when they could have been deported, lawyer David Klehm said.

"Everyone I spoke to told me their hands were tied with this policy," Klehm said.

The lawsuit relies on a section of the state's Health and Safety Code that states that in drug cases involving a non-citizen, "the arresting agency shall notify the appropriate agency of the United States having charge of deportation."

Los Angeles police officers do not ask about immigration status while interviewing victims, witnesses and suspects, and do not arrest people based on immigration status.

What a sad mess we're in when we have to sue our government to get it to do what it should be doing in the first place.

Of course, the cries of "racism" and "bigotry" are sure to start over this... Probably headed by La Raza. Would anyone care for a migraine with a large side of hypocrisy?

From The East Side

From The East Side has an interesting read on getting rid of cable TV, and morons in the media!

Why Do I Blog? A Meme

Benning tagged me with a meme: Why do I blog?

The rules are that after listing five reasons why you blog, you tag five folks.

I'm a rebel, so I'm not going to tag anyone; rather, anyone who wishes to reciprocate can of their own accord.

Here goes:

1. To form/vent my opinions. Often, I refine my own beliefs simply by getting them written down. Blogging allows me to think things out, re-read those thoughts, and then keep or reject them.

2. To prevent boredom. Not that my kids bore me; blogging gives me something to do during nap time!

3. To converse with other adults. Commenting back and forth allows me to step outside the realm of nappies and boo-boos!

4. To voice my opinion. My hubby is as... hawkish as I always am, and I'm sure he appreciates me sparing him my "bomb 'em all and let God sort 'em out" attitude from time to time. Blogging still allows me to get that out!

5. Well... Because I'm addicted!

Pelosi Takes Treachery and Stupidity To New Heights.

After her sharply criticized jaunt through the Syria and Saudi Arabia, All-Powerful Queen of America Nancy Pelosi has intimated that a trip to Iran would be a good idea!

"Speaking just for myself, I would be ready to get on a plane tomorrow morning, because however objectionable, unfair and inaccurate many of (Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's) statements are, it is important that we have a dialogue with him,'' Lantos said. "Speaking for myself, I'm ready to go -- and knowing the speaker, I think that she might be.''

Pelosi did not dispute that statement, and noted that Lantos -- a Hungarian-born survivor of the Holocaust -- brought "great experience, knowledge and judgment" to the recent bipartisan congressional delegation trip to Israel, the Palestinian territories, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in addition to Syria.

Wow. I wonder just how far Pelosi will go in cavorting with America's enemies to spite the other party?

And finally, a little slam on Her Royal Highness Pelosi:

Bhrittish Dhimmis

Today we have a helping of Brittish Dhimmitude on our plates.

Iran is all set to announce "good nuclear news" of the installation of 3,000 nuclear centrifuges, along with the news that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has travel to Russia without any problems.

Hey, that's great. I wonder whatever happened to the Iranian cure for AIDS?

With the Iranian noise about their "National Day of Nuclear Energy," the British have capitulated to Iran's generous and benevolent release of their British sailor guests.

Now that she's free, Faye Turney is telling a different story about her wonderful Muslim 'hosts':

"At one stage ... (the interrogator) asked me, 'How do you feel about dying for your country?" she told the paper.

"The next day, another interrogator said to me, 'You don't u
nderstand, you must cooperate with us. Do you not want to see your daughter again?"

For the first five days of the 13-day detention, Leading Seaman Turney was also made to believe that the other 14 detainees -- all men -- had gone home, and she was the only one left.

"I was thrown into a tiny little cell and ordered to strip off," Turney told the newspaper.
"They took everything from me apart from my knickers. Then some cotton pyjamas were thrown in for me to wear and four filthy blankets. The metal door slammed shut again."

She was among eight sailors and seven marines held by Iran after it claimed they trespassed into Iranian
territorial waters on March 23 -- Britain insists the group were conducting routine anti-smuggling operations in Iraqi waters.

Turney at one point spoke of how she feared Iranian officials were "making my coffin" after she heard "the noise of wood sawing and nails being hammered near my cell ... Then a woman came into my cell to measure me up from head to toe with a tape."

Turney told the paper how at night she was taken to an interrogation room for sometimes multiple questioning sessions, one of which concluded at 6 am.

"They asked which were my ship's ports of call, where were other coalition ships in the Gulf, how do Royal Navy ships protect themselves, how do we communicate, what was the US doing?" "That could have put my colleagues at risk, and there was no way in hell I was ever going to do that, no matter what they did."

Several members of the group were regularly paraded on television, apparently confessing for trespassing, and three letters -- attributed to Turney -- were released by Iran in which she apologised for the group's actions, and questioned Britain's military presence in Iraq.

Turney said that she had purposely written the letters "in such a way that my unit and my family would know it wasn't the real me" after two new interrogators offered to free her "within two weeks" if she confessed.

She told The Sun that her interrogators threatened she would be put on trial for espionage if she did not accept their offer.

While England is letting their soldiers be abused without challenge, their media is sympathizing with the enemy on the home front: The BBC has cancelled a dramatic story about the country's youngest surviving Victoria Cross recipient for being "TOO POSITIVE" about the Iraqi war!

From The Telegraph:

Private Johnson Beharry's courage in rescuing an ambushed foot patrol then, in a second act, saving his vehicle's crew despite his own terrible injuries earned him a Victoria Cross.

For the BBC, however, his story is "too positive" about the conflict.

The corporation has cancelled the commission for a 90-minute drama about Britain's youngest surviving Victoria Cross hero because it feared it would alienate members of the audience opposed to the war in Iraq.

Got that? Dishonoring a war hero is A-OK, so long as a leftist doesn't get offended!

"The BBC has behaved in a cowardly fashion by pulling the plug on the project altogether," said a source close to the project. "It began to have second thoughts last year as the war in Iraq deteriorated. It felt it couldn't show anything with a degree of positivity about the conflict.

"It needed to tell stories about Iraq which reflected the fact that some members of the audience didn't approve of what was going on. Obviously a story about Johnson Beharry could n
ever do that. You couldn't have a scene where he suddenly turned around and denounced the war because he just wouldn't do that.

"The film is now on hold and it will only make it to the screen if another broadcaster picks it up."

But that's not all... In an effort not to offend Muslims, some British schools have decided not to teach history on the Crusades and even the Holocaust!

Is Britain the next France? I suppose only time will tell.

Nancy Pelosi In Saudi Arabia

Nancy Pelosi is continuing her slap-in-the-face Middle East tour with a stop in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after defying the White House with her visit to terror state Syria.

Nancy had tea and crumpets with King Abdullah, who must have been laughing at us to think that the third in command of the country could so openly fly in the face of the American administration... Surely a sign of our apathy and complete weakness.

I wonder if Nancy realizes that the man she's schmoozing with wouldn't allow her to drive a car, vote, read a Bible, or even so much as walk outside the palace without a full niqab without being beaten to a pulp by his "religious police."

Pardon my French, but what a dumb b*tch.

This UK newspaper has determined that everything, including the Iranian hostage taking of 15 British soldiers, is most certainly the U.S.'s fault.

"Religion Of Peace" Beats Teacher To Death

That beautiful "religion of peace" is demonstrating it's docile, tolerant nature again... This time beating a Christian female teacher who unwittingly touched (and therefore desecrated) a Koran to death, and then burning her body. From this source:

GOMBE, Nigeria – Christianah Oluwatoyin Oluwasesin, a teacher at Government Secondary School of Gandu in this northern Nigerian town, was in high spirits last Wednesday (March 21) as she made her way to school where she teaches government.

She was happy that after the final day of exams, she would be joining her husband in their hometown of Abeokuta, in the southwestern state of Ogun; a few months earlier, her husband Femi Oluwasesin had gone to Abeokuta to take a hospital position as a laboratory technician. The high school teacher’s joyous mood had been noted not only that day but the previous one, as she was seen taking pictures and exchanging pleasantries with friends and colleagues.

Soon her happiness would be cut short. Muslim students at the school, along with outside Islamic extremists, murdered Oluwasesin on March 21 over claims that she desecrated the Quran. They beat, stoned, and clubbed her to death, then burned her corpse.

As a supervisor of a class writing a final examination on Islamic Religious knowledge on that day, Oluwasesin was responsible for ensuring that students strictly kept rules and to prevent mischief in the hall, which had become common among cheating students, said Aluke Musa Yila, a fellow teacher at the school.

Musa told Compass that Oluwasesin had collected papers, books and bags before the exam in the all-girls class, in accordance with school procedures to prevent cheating, and dropped the materials in front of the class.

While noting that Oluwasesin was not aware the belongings included a Quran, a local newspaper reported she tossed the belongings outside the classroom. But Musa, who rushed into the classroom soon after students began yelling, told Compass that Oluwasesin had dropped the belongings in front of the class.

“Usually such items are returned to every student as each returns her answer script,” Musa said. “Soon after the bags collected by Oluwasesin were dropped in front of the class, one of the girls in the class began to cry. She told her colleagues that she had a copy of the Quran in her bag, that Oluwasesin touched the bag, and that by doing so she had desecrated the Quran, since she was a Christian.”

Soon after the student raised this alarm, other students in class began to shout “Allahu Akbar [God is great].”

“It was at this point that I was attracted to the riotous scene in that class, and I then rushed there,” said Musa, who said he witnessed the murder of Oluwasesin by the Muslim students and extremists. “How could a teacher know that that there was a copy of the Quran in a student’s bag if this was not pointed out to her?”

He notified Malam Baba Musa, patron of the Muslim Students’ Society at the school. The MSS patron, along with three other school staff members, went to the classroom to try to bring calm, Aluke Musa said. In the raucous confusion, he managed to rush Oluwasesin out of class to the principal’s office.

“The principal left me and Oluwasesin in his office and also went there to calm down the Muslim students,” he said. “Knowing that the students may soon come to this office, I pushed Oluwasesin into the bathroom in this office and then locked up the office.”

By the time he had rejoined the principal and other staff members, he said, the entire school was engulfed in uproar. Muslim extremists from outside the school rushed in to join in the unrest.

“They destroyed school property and were demanding that Oluwasesin must be given to them to be stoned to death,” Musa said. “When we could not give in by releasing Oluwasesin to them, they started stoning us.”

Pandemonium prevented school or law enforcement officials from getting Oluwasesin out of the school, he said.

“While we were thinking of ways to take Oluwasesin out of the school, the Muslims broke into the principal’s office and dragged her out,” he said. “The principal rushed there to save her as they clubbed her with an iron on the head and blood was gushing out from the wounded side of the head. He was pleading that they should not kill her, but they were insisting that she must be killed.”

Musa said that the Muslims overcame efforts by the principal and another teacher identified only as Kabiru to protect Oluwasesin.

“The principal succeeded in getting Oluwasesin up to the school gate,” he said. “There was a house near the gate, and he dragged her into the house, but the rioting Muslims went into the house and dragged her out again. This time, they clubbed her to death, brought old mats and placed dirt on her corpse, and then burned the body.”

Quran Unfound
Musa said he was baffled that throughout the unrest, the copy of the Quran supposed to have been desecrated was never seen, nor was it produced by the offended student.

“Whether the Quran was in the bag of that student, nobody knows,” he said.

Oluwasesin was the mother of two children.

But hey, we should all try to be a little more tolerant and understanding, shouldn't we?

Calm Down, Shrillary!

All I can say is... Wow.
