A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -Thomas Jefferson

Psst... MSM: Your Stupid Is Showing...
It seems lately that the main stream media has increased its usual flow of seditious "coverage" to a fevered pitch. Sometimes, it is difficult to tell if one is watching CNN or al-Jazeera.
Thanks to The Truth Hurts at Memphis, Ect. for this fantastic post, some of which I shall reproduce here:
The liberals in this country and around the world have taken two incidents this week and unleashed a torrent of really stupid comments. I haven't blogged on the political scene for a bit because honestly I've been having too much fun with the family and at work over the past few days to worry about it...plus it's actually been pretty entertaining to listen to the Democrats try to spin the killing of Al-Zarqawi into something negative. The progression went something like this:
Oh, yes, this is a great day for ...the troops, yeah, that's it! ... followed by:
Well, this probably isn't going to change anything...
Plus, the * gasp* revelation that he might have been alive when the first military forces got there, along with the thinly veiled accusation we may have let him die or *gasp #2* TORTURED HIM!
You know, I think upon reflection this has to be the stupidest train of thought I have heard out of the political arena in a long time:
We drop half a ton of ordinance on this guy, but now since he survived the initial attack we're somehow at FAULT for not saving his LIFE? Well, next time we'll just call for a third air strike and I guess that will make it OK? Or, following that logic, let's just nuke the whole city so NO one suffers!
Then comes the suicides of three detainees at Club Gitmo, prompting not only home-grown but global stupidity. And the winners are:
Honorable mention:
A lawyer who specialises in human rights said Gitmo "great stain" on the human rights record of the US.
Three squares a day, sensitivity to thier religion, and Red Cross monitoring? Yeah, some stain. These guys are treated better than they would be in most US prisons!
Special "Huh?" award :
The Center for Constitutional Rights says the three dead men were "heroes for those of us who believe in basic American values of justice, fairness and democracy".
What? Dude, that one doesn't even make SENSE!
Runner-up:
"These people are despairing because they are being held lawlessly. There's no end in sight. They're not being brought before any independent judges. They're not being charged and convicted for any crime."
They are PRISONERS OF WAR, you idiot!
And....First prize goes to:
UK Constitutional Affairs Minister Harriet Harman told the BBC on Sunday the camp should be moved to the US or shut down. "If it's perfectly legal and there's nothing going wrong there - well, why don't they have it in America and then the American court system can supervise it?" she said.
Uh, because we don't want them on our soil should they escape, maybe? Or does that make too much sense? and (see above) they are not criminals..they are POW's!
And I have to give a shout out to George Bush for the following comment via Tony Snow:
Mr Bush had "expressed serious concern" at the deaths. "He also stressed that it was important to treat the bodies humanely and with cultural sensitivity," he said.
Sensitivity, huh? Sort of like they did, dragging the bodies of our pilots through the streets?
Amen, brotha'! We need to stop blaming the wrong side and wake up to the truth!
