Mr. Edward Behr Said:

I read this comment discussing the English teacher and the Teddy Bear jihad over at Posts From Helm's Deep, and just couldn't help but reproduce it here.
Mr Edward Behr said...

This insult cannot be forgiven. The woman must be publicly shot or beheaded as an example to others.

I am the secretary of the International Union of Teddy Bears, Fluffy Bunnies, Cuddly Toys and allied operatives.

As you may be aware, our union has millions of members throughout the world and representatives in every child's bedroom.

A major part of our duties consists of sleeping with children in an entirely innocent and comforting manner. For over a century parents have had absolute trust that they could put us to bed with their sons and daughters and they would not be harmed.

Imagine therefore our horror when we found that this 'teacher' had so corrupted her students as to associate one of our members with history's most notorious pedophile.

Off with her head!!!!

Iran: Use of the word women 'banned from state TV'

Tehran, 29 Nov. (AKI) - The word 'women' must now be replaced on Iranian state television by 'family', reformist Norouz news agency reports.

In programmes broadcast throughout the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women last Sunday, Iranian state TV used the world family instead.

In recent weeks, Iran's Centre for the Participation of Women changed its name to the Centre for Family Matters.

At the time of former reformist president, Mohammad Khatami, the centre was set up within the president's office.

Khatami was president of Iran from 1997 to 2005.

The Global Warming Racket

Global warming is the greatest racket of our times, brought to you by an organization that has a successful history of scams and extortion. Just take the AIDS relief and "oil for food" gyps. Whats worse is that the current scam is far more insidious, as it brings us into global socialism. (re: communism)

Excerpted from this source:

(All emphasis mine.)

UNITED NATIONS -- Helping the world's poor adapt to more floods, droughts and other changes from a warming planet will cost the richest nations at least $86 billion a year by 2015, an expert panel warned Tuesday.

"They must have help from the rich world," said Claes Johnasson, a co-author of the report commissioned by the U.N. Development Program. "Climate is forcing people into human development traps."

(Re-distribution of wealth? Why, that sounds like communism on a global scale!

We can all be poor now. Unless, of course, you work for the U.N.)

Half the cost, $44 billion, would go for "climate-proofing" (What the hell does that mean, exactly?) developing nations' infrastructure while $40 billion would help the poor adapt how the live to cope with climate-related risks, says the panel's report. The other $2 billion would go to strengthening responses to natural disasters.

(Uh-huh. And all that oil money the UN collected went only into buying food for the hungry, and not to buy fancy cars for Koffee Anon's kids. I'm sure that this time every thing will be above board.)

The report recommends the biggest share be paid by the United States and other rich nations, (Naturally.) based on aid targets and financing calculations by the World Bank and Group of Eight major industrialized nations.

The Bush administration said in a statement that one of its top priorities is "to alleviate poverty and spur economic growth in the developing world by modernizing energy services."

The Human Development Report each year compares nations by life expectancy, literacy and other data. This year, it focuses on climate change, coming just a week before the world's nations convene in Indonesia to negotiate a new climate treaty.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Because of global warming, he said, 600 million more people in sub-Saharan Africa will go hungry from collapsing agriculture, an extra 400 million people will be exposed to malaria and other diseases, and an added 200 million will be flooded out of their homes.

(Oh, it's the fault of global warming, and not the fault of their constant warfare, and utter governmental corruption that results in the failure to build infrastructure.

If we just cool the Earth by 1.3 degrees, everything in Africa will be sunshine and lollipops.)

The development panel says the greatest financial responsibility lies with the U.S. and other rich nations most responsible for the accumulating carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere, mainly from man's burning of coal, oil and other fossil fuels.

(Funny how the greatest financial burden always rests with a few of the richest nations, huh? We need to stop letting ourselves be swindled by the U.N.)

"We're suggesting 1.6 percent of (global) GDP _ still very affordable," Kjorven said. "The countries of the world that are the principal culprits, if you wish, for creating this problem in the first place need to act strongly to safeguard the future of those that have done nothing to cause this problem but are the most vulnerable."

(Oh, we're getting a bargain!)

Developed countries, meanwhile, are failing to meet their targets under the current climate treaty, the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, for cutting greenhouse gases by 2012, the report said. France, Germany, Japan and Britain have reduced their emissions somewhat, it said, but the European Union is falling short of its goal of a 20 percent cut by 2020.

(So China is reducing their emissions, too, right? Uh-huh.

This is such an utter scam. We should boot the UN off of our soil and stop funding these mobsters!)

Not the Sharpest Knife in the Drawer:

This photo, supplied by the Aiken County,S.C., County Sheriff's Office, shows a fake $1 million bill, which a man tried to use to open an account in a Aiken, S.C, bank Monday, Nov. 26, 2007. Alexander D. Smith, 31, was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of forgery after he walked into the bank and tried to open an account by depositing thefake $1 million bill, said an Aiken County Sheriff's spokesman.

I would have loved to have seen the look on that bank officer's face!

Go Green: Sterilize

Apparently, in order to save the environment and reduce your global footprint, you should get sterilized.

Had Toni Vernelli gone ahead with her pregnancy ten years ago, she would know at first hand what it is like to cradle her own baby, to have a pair of innocent eyes gazing up at her with unconditional love, to feel a little hand slipping into hers - and a voice calling her Mummy.

But the very thought makes her shudder with horror.

Because when Toni terminated her pregnancy, she did so in the firm belief she was helping to save the planet.

Scroll down for more...

Desperate measures: Toni Vernelli was steralised at age 27 to reduce her carbon footprint

Incredibly, so determined was she that the terrible "mistake" of pregnancy should never happen again, that she begged the doctor who performed the abortion to sterilise her at the same time.

He refused, but Toni - who works for an environmental charity - "relentlessly hunted down a doctor who would perform the irreversible surgery.

Finally, eight years ago, Toni got her way.

At the age of 27 this young woman at the height of her reproductive years was sterilised to "protect the planet".

Incredibly, instead of mourning the loss of a family that never was, her boyfriend (now husband) presented her with a congratulations card.

While some might think it strange to celebrate the reversal of nature and denial of motherhood, Toni relishes her decision with an almost religious zeal.

"Having children is selfish. It's all about maintaining your genetic line at the expense of the planet," says Toni, 35.

"Every person who is born uses more food, more water, more land, more fossil fuels, more trees and produces more rubbish, more pollution, more greenhouse gases, and adds to the problem of over-population."

While most parents view their children as the ultimate miracle of nature, Toni seems to see them as a sinister threat to the future.

It's an extreme stance which one might imagine is born from an unhappy childhood or an upbringing among parents who share similar, strong beliefs.

But nothing in Toni's safe, middle- class upbringing gave any clues as to the views which would shape her adult life. The eldest of three daughters, she enjoyed a loving, close-knit family life.

She excelled at her Roman Catholic school, and her doting parents fully expected her to grow up, settle down and start a family of her own.

"When I finished school, I got a job in retail and at 19, I met my first husband," says Toni.

"No sooner had we finished our wedding cake than all our relatives started to ask when they could expect a new addition to the family.

"I always told them that would never happen, but no one listened.

"When I was a child, I loved bird-watching, and in my teens that developed into a passion for the environment as well as the welfare of animals - I became a vegetarian when I was 15.

"Even my parents used to smile and say: 'You'll change your mind one day about babies.'

"The only person who understood how I felt was my first husband, who didn't want children either.

"We both passionately wanted to save the planet - not produce a new life which would only add to the problem."

So, instead of mapping out plans for a family, Toni and her husband began discussing medical options to ensure they would never reproduce.

Toni, from Taunton, Somerset, says: "When I was 21, I considered sterilisation for the first time.

"I'd been on the Pill for five years and didn't want to take hormone-based contraception indefinitely.

"I went to my GP, but she wouldn't even consider the idea.

"She said I was far too young and told me I could 'absolutely not' be sterilised, and that I was bound to change my mind one day.

"I found her attitude frustrating.

"We decided my husband would have a vasectomy instead. He was 25, just a few years older than me, but the GP allowed him to go ahead.

"I found it insulting that she thought that, just because I was a woman, I'd reach a point where an urge to breed would overcome all rational thought."

Sound like anyone we know? Hmmm...

Another One For Daddio:

This is quite possibly the best campaign endorsement of all time!

Cartoons on Monday

I'm in a cartoon kind of mood today.

Poking at the Admiral of Chappaquiddick is always fun:

Let The Mud Fly!

Sometimes, a picture is worth a thousand words:

The infighting has just been kicked up a notch between Shrillary and Obama.

From this source:

Just days after increasingly acrimonious exchanges in Thursday’s Democratic debate, agents of Mrs Clinton were quoted as saying that they had obtained unspecified “scandalous information” about Mr Obama.

(Hmm... I wonder what the scandal du jour will be? Fraud? Adultery? Drug use?)

His campaign responded furiously over the weekend, challenging Mrs Clinton either to make the information public “or concede the truth that there is none”. Mr Obama, who is standing on a platform of changing Washington’s adversarial culture, accused the Democratic front-runner of using “Swift Boat” tactics of “innuendo and insinuation” similar to those deployed in the 2004 race when John Kerry’s Vietnam war record as a Swift Boat captain was smeared.

“I am prepared to stand up to that kind of politics, whether it’s deployed by candidates in our party, in the other party or by any third party,” he said. “The cause of moving America forward demands that we defeat it.

“She of all people, having complained so often about the politics of personal destruction, should move quickly to either stand by or renounce these tactics.”

You know, with the illegal immigrant driver's license flip-flopping fiasco, and now this, Shrillary might be starting to self-destruct.

Vive la France!

On November 7th, 2007, French President Nicholas Sarkozy gave a stirring speech that you did not see in the main stream media.

Sadly, you will never hear something so pro-American uttered from the lips of a Democrat, and quite frankly, we hear it too seldom from Republicans.

It is a long speech, and so I have excerpted certain parts. Read the entire speech here.

Upon first meeting Washington, Lafayette told him: "I have come here to learn, not to teach." It was this new spirit and youth of the Old World seeking out the wisdom of the New World that opened a new era for all of humanity.

From the very beginning, the American dream meant putting into practice the dreams of the Old World.

From the very beginning, the American dream meant proving to all mankind that freedom, justice, human rights and democracy were no utopia but were rather the most realistic policy there is and the most likely to improve the fate of each and every person.

America did not tell the millions of men and women who came from every country in the world and who—with their hands, their intelligence and their heart—built the greatest nation in the world: "Come, and everything will be given to you." She said: "Come, and the only limits to what you'll be able to achieve will be your own courage and your own talent." America embodies this extraordinary ability to grant each and every person a second chance.

Here, both the humblest and most illustrious citizens alike know that nothing is owed to them and that everything has to be earned. That's what constitutes the moral value of America. America did not teach men the idea of freedom; she taught them how to practice it. And she fought for this freedom whenever she felt it to be threatened somewhere in the world. It was by watching America grow that men and women understood that freedom was possible.

What made America great was her ability to transform her own dream into hope for all mankind.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The men and women of my generation heard their grandparents talk about how in 1917, America saved France at a time when it had reached the final limits of its strength, which it had exhausted in the most absurd and bloodiest of wars.

The men and women of my generation heard their parents talk about how in 1944, America returned to free Europe from the horrifying tyranny that threatened to enslave it.

Fathers took their sons to see the vast cemeteries where, under thousands of white crosses so far from home, thousands of young American soldiers lay who had fallen not to defend their own freedom but the freedom of all others, not to defend their own families, their own homeland, but to defend humanity as a whole.

Fathers took their sons to the beaches where the young men of America had so heroically landed. They read them the admirable letters of farewell that those 20-year-old soldiers had written to their families before the battle to tell them: "We don't consider ourselves heroes. We want this war to be over. But however much dread we may feel, you can count on us." Before they landed, Eisenhower told them: "The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you."

And as they listened to their fathers, watched movies, read history books and the letters of soldiers who died on the beaches of Normandy and Provence, as they visited the cemeteries where the star-spangled banner flies, the children of my generation understood that these young Americans, 20 years old, were true heroes to whom they owed the fact that they were free people and not slaves. France will never forget the sacrifice of your children.

To those 20-year-old heroes who gave us everything, to the families of those who never returned, to the children who mourned fathers they barely got a chance to know, I want to express France's eternal gratitude.

On behalf of my generation, which did not experience war but knows how much it owes to their courage and their sacrifice; on behalf of our children, who must never forget; to all the veterans who are here today and, notably the seven I had the honor to decorate yesterday evening, one of whom, Senator Inouye, belongs to your Congress, I want to express the deep, sincere gratitude of the French people. I want to tell you that whenever an American soldier falls somewhere in the world, I think of what the American army did for France. I think of them and I am sad, as one is sad to lose a member of one's family.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The men and women of my generation remember the Marshall Plan that allowed their fathers to rebuild a devastated Europe. They remember the Cold War, during which America again stood as the bulwark of the Free World against the threat of new tyranny.

I remember the Berlin crisis and Kennedy who unhesitatingly risked engaging the United States in the most destructive of wars so that Europe could preserve the freedom for which the American people had already sacrificed so much. No one has the right to forget. Forgetting, for a person of my generation, would be tantamount to self-denial.

But my generation did not love America only because she had defended freedom. We also loved her because for us, she embodied what was most audacious about the human adventure; for us, she embodied the spirit of conquest. We loved America because for us, America was a new frontier that was continuously pushed back—a constantly renewed challenge to the inventiveness of the human spirit.

My generation shared all the American dreams. Our imaginations were fueled by the winning of the West and Hollywood. By Elvis Presley, Duke Ellington, Hemingway. By John Wayne, Charlton Heston, Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth. And by Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins, fulfilling mankind's oldest dream.

What was so extraordinary for us was that through her literature, her cinema and her music, America always seemed to emerge from adversity even greater and stronger; that instead of causing America to doubt herself, such ordeals only strengthened her belief in her values.

What makes America strong is the strength of this ideal that is shared by all Americans and by all those who love her because they love freedom.

America's strength is not only a material strength, it is first and foremost a spiritual and moral strength. No one expressed this better than a black pastor who asked just one thing of America: that she be true to the ideal in whose name he—the grandson of a slave—felt so deeply American. His name was Martin Luther King. He made America a universal role model.

The world still remembers his words—words of love, dignity and justice. America heard those words and America changed. And the men and women who had doubted America because they no longer recognized her began loving her again.

Fundamentally, what are those who love America asking of her, if not to remain forever true to her founding values?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today as in the past, as we stand at the beginning of the 21st century, it is together that we must fight to defend and promote the values and ideals of freedom and democracy that men such as Washington and Lafayette invented together.

Together we must fight against terrorism. On September 11, 2001, all of France—petrified with horror—rallied to the side of the American people. The front-page headline of one of our major dailies read: "We are all American." And on that day, when you were mourning for so many dead, never had America appeared to us as so great, so dignified, so strong. The terrorists had thought they would weaken you. They made you greater. The entire world felt admiration for the courage of the American people. And from day one, France decided to participate shoulder to shoulder with you in the war in Afghanistan. Let me tell you solemnly today: France will remain engaged in Afghanistan as long as it takes, because what's at stake in that country is the future of our values and that of the Atlantic Alliance. For me, failure is not an option. Terrorism will not win because democracies are not weak, because we are not afraid of this barbarism. America can count on France.

Santa Isn't Laughing:

Will, "Ha, ha, ha; Happy Holidays," be what you hear this year when you put your little tyke on Santa's knee?

If you live in Sydney, Australia, it's a possibility.

From this source:

(All emphasis mine)

When kids hear Santa Claus bellow, "Ho, ho, ho," is their first thought prostitution?

That concern has prompted an attempt to gag the traditional greeting, and many Santas are now fighting back.

According to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, Santas across Australia are rebelling against attempts to change their saying to a more politically correct, "ha, ha, ha."

It all started when the recruitment firm Westaff – which has offices both in the United States and Australia – told its Christmas trainees that the "ho, ho, ho" phrase could frighten children and possibly be derogatory to women.

(Look, I don't know any woman who has ever inferred that she was indirectly being called a whore while her child is giving Santa their list. Frankly, if she does, she's got bigger problems than the mall Santa insulting her on the sly.

As for frightening children... Most are until they hit about three years old. When you see a child younger than that on Santa's lap, it's for the parent's gratification, not the baby's.)

"Westaff has been a provider of quality caring Santas for over 40 years," Westaff's national Santa coordinator Sari Hegarty wrote to stores via e-mail.

"Part of our advice to our Santas is that they should be mindful of children having their first Santa experience. We ask our Santas to try techniques such as lowering their tone of voice and using 'ha, ha, ha' to encourage the children to come forward and meet Santa. We wish you and your family a very merry Christmas."

(As I said earlier, most babies are going to be a little fearful. This is the same phenomenon that drives some parents to carry their infant baby around in a Halloween costume with a pail. Who's going to eat that candy?

Tell the parents to try again next year.)

The directions have prompted some Santa trainees to quit the program.

One told the Daily Telegraph he was taught not to use "ho, ho, ho" because it was too close to the American slang for prostitute.

"Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, head of the campaign against sexualizing children called Kids Free 2B Kids. "We are talking about little kids who do not understand that 'ho, ho, ho' has any other connotation and nor should they. Leave Santa alone."

(Here, here!)

Dr. Joe Tucci, CEO of the Australian Childhood Foundation, called it the latest example of political correctness gone mad.

"There is no stronger tradition for children than Santa's ho, ho, ho," Tucci said.

At a Myer store, where Westaff also trains the fat men in red suit, Santa could not stop laughing about the suggestion.

"Myer has not directed our Santas to refrain from using 'ho, ho, ho' and believe the expression is an important Christmas tradition," a spokesman for Myer said.

---------------------------------------------------

So what is it? A directive from the staffing service, or a mandate from the store where the Santa will be employed? If it is the latter, I would be avoiding that store like the plague!

Political correctness will be the death of Western civilization if not stopped, as certainly as I type these words!

Go Figure

Once I bought a pair of shoes at Fashion Bug, a local clothing shop. I had a coupon that, if I would just fill in my email address to receive online offers, I would get 50% off. The shoes were already on sale, and with another 50%... You get the idea.

Of course, my inbox now gets regular offers from the boutique. The latest is a magazine subscription offer from their "plus size" line.

(I have marked Fashion Bug as a junk mailer now.)

I captured the image for reproduction here, as I was quite disgusted by it:

I couldn't help but fire off an email about this:

I am extremely disappointed with your recent email advertising Figure Magazine with Rosie O'Donnell.

I will definitely not be subscribing, and if I were, I would cancel my subscription immediately.

Rosie O'Donnell is a highly divisive figure whom I find VERY offensive. Her views about the World Trade Center attacks are absolutely unconscionable.

Like the President or not, she regularly and publicly assaults and insults the office of the Presidency, which I feel goes beyond regular discord or discourse, and moves into the territory of hateful vitriol. In short, she looks and makes America look a fool in a world forum.

The editors of Figure Magazine should give serious consideration to whom they decide to devote their magazine.

Thank you for your time.

Here is the customer service page in case you wish to express your displeasure as well. There is also a snail mail addy at the bottom.

Separation Of Church And State?

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

Unless, of course, you're a Christian.

From this source:

(All emphasis mine.)

Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development officials have announced a ban on any decorations in HUD housing complexes that mention Jesus or represent religion for the Christmas season, and the American Family Association has responded with a petition drive to overturn the decision.

(I wonder if they ban Islamic symbols during Ramadan or Eid.)

The AFA has set up a link to allow constituents to send e-mails to the HUD secretary or President Bush expressing their objections to the policy.

The issue arose at the Plant City Living Center in Plant City, Fla., where 85-year-old Mrs. Arnold was told that federal law now prohibits her from displaying anything that references religion – words, decorations and the like – in the common area of her apartment building, a HUD facility.

The grandmother told AFA she was instructed that even an angel decoration would be disallowed by the ban, which makes her think of the restrictions in Germany during World War II.

(And she's old enough to recall first-hand!)

According to the center, HUD has issued a directive banning "any religious symbols or religious words associated with Christmas," which effectively prevents Mrs. Arnold from placing a small Christmas tree outside her door if it contains any religious symbols or words – "even an angel," AFA said in a special alert asking for e-mails.

A spokeswoman at the center who preferred not to give her name told WND the rules now prevent displays "like a manger, like a Christ child, any religious symbols."

"We used to have a sign outside that said, 'Jesus is the reason for the season,' but we can't anymore," she told WND. "We're all very unhappy about that."

(Don't these folks know that winter is the reason for the season? Sheesh.)

The building has about 40 one-bedroom apartments for seniors who are at least 62 years old.

The spokeswoman said she didn't know what would be used for decorations now. "I don't know. We can probably decorate the tree, but we can't put anything on it that symbolizes Christ," she said.

"If the residents want to have a Christmas party in their community room, they cannot call it a Christmas party. The Center says HUD directs residents not to use the word 'Christmas' but to use the word 'holiday,'" the AFA advisory said.

"A Sunday School class from a church near Mrs. Arnold's apartment comes every year to host a Hanging of the Greens and Christmas Party for all the residents. She said the highlight of their Christmas Party comes at the very end of The Hanging of the Greens when someone places the angel on top of their Christmas tree. Their tradition is now banned by the federal government," the AFA said.

(Get your yellow crosses ready, ladies...)

The family group noted the federal government has become increasingly active in banning Christianity from the public square, citing the National Park Service's efforts to conceal the words "Laus Deo," which is Latin for "Praise Be to God" at the Washington Monument, and the move by a Veterans Administration official to ban the script of a flag-folding ceremony that mentions "Abraham, Isaac and Jacob" and "Father, Son and Holy Ghost" at 100 national cemeteries.

(God forbid a VETREN'S PRIVATE FUNERAL SERVICE offend anyone.)

However, "both of these were rescinded after AFA supporters sent e-mails to proper authorities," the AFA said. In the case of the Washington Monument dispute, Park Service officials told WND they got 26,000 e-mails in a morning.

Get ready for a highly offensive image:

UPDATE (from AFA):

Plant City Living Center attorney Steve Edelstein issued this statement today:

"I am pleased to report that the Plant City Living Center's recent newsletter regarding holiday decoration policies has been rescinded. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guarantees the rights of citizens to display religious symbols in public. We support that guarantee."

"I want to take this opportunity to reiterate to you and to inform your readers that Plant City Living Center respects the religious beliefs of all of its residents. In furtherance of that policy, Plant City Living Center allows residents to decorate their apartments and the exterior areas of their apartments in any manner they choose. To use your recent Action Alert as an example, this policy allows any resident to place a small Christmas tree outside their door and to decorate their tree in any way they wish. By the way, Plant City's policy also allows angels to be displayed in common areas."

Make no mistake: HUD respects the religious rights of others when they're made to, and for no other reason.

Succinct:

I think this puts the differences into perspective.

The One That Got Away

I guess this baby wasn't "pro-choice."

From this source:
Baby survives attempt to end life

A boy has been born healthy and well even though at one point doctors thought it would be better to end his life to save that of his twin brother.

Gabriel Jones was not growing in his mother's womb so parents Rebecca and Mark of Staffordshire decided to take the medical staff's advice.

But, despite a number of operations designed to end his life, Gabriel instead began to grow.

He and brother Ieuan were successfully delivered by caesarean section.

"It was a bit of a nightmare to say the least," she said.

The problems were first noticed when Rebecca went for her 20-week scan. Gabriel was found to be half the size of his brother.

"He wasn't growing and he wasn't putting on weight like babies should," she said.

"At 22 weeks I went to North Staffordshire's maternity unit with pre-eclampsia. At that point I thought we were going to lose both of them."

'Dangerous size'

Two weeks later she attended Birmingham Women's Hospital where the news was getting worse.

"Gabriel had slowed right down. He was not moving or growing and his heart had swelled to a dangerous size.

"At the end of the day I wanted both of them.

"I was carrying both of them and I wanted both of them desperately.

"But it was looking like it was not going to be."

The family realised they had to make a decision. Medical staff had explained that if things continued as they were Ieuan could also suffer.

"We had to make the decision. It was not a matter of if he died, he was going to die.

"It was a case that when he died there was a high risk that we would have lost Ieuan as well."

Opposite effect

So, at 25 weeks, on 13 February, staff at Birmingham Women's Hospital took the decision to sever Gabriel's umbilical cord to cut off his blood supply.

However, that was unsuccessful so later the twins' placenta was cut in half.

"No-one expected him to live through but it had the total opposite effect and he started to grow."

The twins were born by emergency caesarean at 31 weeks and now need no treatment at all.

The family have since raised more than £4,000 for the two maternity units.

Uncle Jay Explains The News-11/5/2007

"No Citizenship, No Service"

I have been out of the blogosphere for a while due to certain circumstances: My dog got pretty ill and required some babying. She's doing much better now.

Also, I have an upcoming medical procedure this Thursday which requires a few trips back to the doctor's office. Don't worry though, it's nothing serious, and I'm too mean to get ill, anyway.

I mean to get back to regular reading, and I just couldn't let this awesome story go. I will reproduce it here for accessibility, from this source:

Store requires citizenship to buy ammo

By Allison Williams

ST. PAULS — A bright red sign hangs in Nick Scavo’s store, right next to the World War II poster of Gen. Douglas MacArthur chomping on his pipe. “You must be a U.S. citizen to buy ammo or clips,” it says. No citizenship, no service. Scavo runs a military surplus store on Broad Street, the main drag of this town halfway between Fayetteville and Lumberton. It’s stuffed with camouflage of all sizes, infants to adults, boxes of mess kits and canteens, men’s dress shoes, even an ancient slot machine. He somehow found room to park a Vietnam-era jeep, just like the one he drove when he fought in the Marines. And this is just the half of it — Scavo says there’s more at home — but he admits that he has yet to find a place for the used full-size fire engine he just bought.

Space is one reason he moved his business from Fayetteville to St. Pauls. He liked the small town.

But then he began to notice an influx of Hispanic immigrants. In 1990, the U.S. Census Bureau reported 704 Hispanics in Robeson County. That number jumped to 5,994 in 2000. Many of them found work in the fields or in nearby plants — Smithfield Packing Co. in Tar Heel, Mountaire Farms in Lumber Bridge and Prestage Foods in St. Pauls. They began to open small grocery stores, restaurants, even a religious bookstore off Broad Street.

And some of them came into Scavo’s store looking for ammunition.

That bothered Scavo — he didn’t want to help people who were here illegally. The way he sees it, by refusing to put ammunition in the hands of lawbreakers, he’s preventing crime. North Carolina law requires proof of age to buy ammunition — 18 for shotgun shells and 21 for other kinds of ammunition — but it does not require proof of citizenship.

“It’s my store,” he says. “I’m going to run it the way I want.”

So he put up the sign, in English and Spanish, something for which he had to ask help from a Hispanic woman. In Spanish, the sign says, “Effectivo a partir de ahora para poder tu obtener las balas y cargadores nese citas tener tu estados unidas ciudadania. Gracias.”

“I probably said what everybody who lives here thinks,” he said.

Mayor Gordon “Buddy” Westbrook says he has not seen the sign or heard any complaints. “If I were someone from another country and saw something like that facing me, I might have some feelings about it,” he said. “Then again, he may have good reason for it."

When a visitor points out that the sign may not be the friendliest message in a place that proclaims itself the “Little Town with the Big Heart,” Scavo just shrugs. But when it’s pointed out that other businesses — department stores, for example — do not require proof of citizenship to buy a shirt, he fires back, “You’re not going to kill anybody with that shirt, now, are you?’’

Scavo has a theory or statistic for almost every question. He dislikes illegal immigrants, but when asked who would fill the jobs that many immigrants accept, he says that problem is easily solved.

Abortion, he says, has robbed the United States of 50 million people who would otherwise fill the workplace.

Therefore, by outlawing abortion, the problem would be solved.

Hispanics in town don’t seem that worried about Scavo’s policy. They say he’s the exception and not the norm in St. Pauls, a town that has welcomed immigrants. On a recent afternoon, Libna Velasquez worked the front counter at El Maguey, a small store on Broad Street that sells a variety of things, including popular movies and ice cream. “He has rules on who you can sell to and not sell to,” she said in Spanish. “He should not make that decision on his own.

“If it’s only illegals, it’s assuming they’re delinquents just because they’re not documented. Sometimes American citizens are the ones breaking the law.”

At La Roca Mexican store, Angel Cervantes helped customers who navigated the tight aisles packed with food and drinks. He wore a sparkly T-shirt with the word “Hustla” printed on the front. He said everyone — citizens and noncitizens — should have the same protection. “We have the right to defend ourselves,’’ he said.

There might be one thing that people on both sides of this issue can agree on: the need for a concrete policy from Congress on immigration. Marisol Jimenez McGee is advocacy director for El Pueblo, a public policy organization in Raleigh that is dedicated to strengthening the Latino community.

“This question of citizenship is just another example of people’s frustration with our broken immigration system,” she said. “They’re trying to take it into their own hands.

“And when people take this into their hands, we’re going to see more examples like this, potentially even more discriminatory or dangerous kinds of action. None of us think the status quo is healthy or sustainable.”

Kudos to Mr. Scavo... But the rest of these fools are mind-numbingly predictable. Imagine for a moment what a anti-gun nut leftard would do if a bullet pulled from a body were traced back to him selling to a criminal illegal. The flurry of anti-Second Amendment legislation would be dizzying!

All Whites Are Racist.

That sounds like a bit of a racist statement, doesn't it? (It makes about as much sense as the statement, "everything I say is a lie.")

Well, not if you are a liberal college with a diversity program to grind!

From this source:

(All emphasis mine.)

A mandatory University of Delaware program requires residence hall students to acknowledge that "all whites are racist" and offers them "treatment" for any incorrect attitudes regarding class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality they might hold upon entering the school, according to a civil rights group.

Off to the re-education camps, where we will teach you what to think!

The organization cited excerpts from the university's Office of Residence Life Diversity Education Training documents, including the statement:

"A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. 'The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination….'"

THAT IS AN AMAZING STATEMENT! I guess it's OK to be 'prejudiced' as long as I can't DO anything about it?!?

The education program also notes that "reverse racism" is "a term created and used by white people to deny their white privilege." And "a non-racist" is called "a non-term," because, the program explains, "The term was created by whites to deny responsibility for systemic racism, to maintain an aura of innocence in the face of racial oppression, and to shift the responsibility for that oppression from whites to people of color (called 'blaming the victim')."

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

The "education" regarding racism is just one of the subjects that students are required to adopt as part of their University of Delaware experience, too, FIRE noted.

The "shocking program of ideological reeducation," which the school itself defines as a "treatment" for students' incorrect attitudes and beliefs, is nothing less than "Orwellian," FIRE said.

The school requires its approximately 7,000 residence hall students "to adopt highly specific university-approved views on issues ranging from politics to race, sexuality, sociology, moral philosophy and environmentalism."

"FIRE is calling for the total dismantling of the program, which is a flagrant violation of students' rights to freedom of conscience and freedom from compelled speech," the organization said.

----------------------------------------

According to university materials, RAs are instructed to ask students during one-on-one sessions questions such as: "When did you discover your sexual identity?" "When were you first made aware of your race?" and "Who taught you a lesson in regard to some sort of diversity awarness? What was the lesson?"

Because obviously, your racist parents couldn't have brought you up right...

"Students who express discomfort with this type of questioning often meet with disapproval from their RAs, who write reports on these one-on-one sessions and deliver these reports to their superiors. One student identified in a write-up as an RA's 'worst' one-on-one session was a young woman who stated that she was tired of having 'diversity shoved down her throat,'" FIRE said.

This particular student responded to the question, "When did you discover your sexual identity?" with the terse: "That is none of your damn business," FIRE said.

Hmm... Sounds like these 're-education' sessions are also a perfect environment for a pervert to get away with anything. And of course, if you offer any kind of objections, well... That's just your racist nature asserting itself.

Requirements for students include: "Students will recognize that systemic oppression exists in our society," "Students will recognize the benefits of dismantling systems of oppression," and "Students will be able to utilize their knowledge of sustainability to change their daily habits and consumer mentality," FIRE said.

The foundation said students even are "pressured or even required" to make social statements that meet with the school's approval.

Yeah, that's right. OR YOU'LL FAIL is the club, I'm sure!

This is beyond the pale, folks!

A LITTLE Payback...

.... But not nearly enough. Still, it's a good start.

From this source:

(All emphasis mine.)

BALTIMORE (Reuters) - A jury on Wednesday ordered an anti-gay Kansas church to pay $10.9 million in damages to relatives of a U.S. Marine who died in Iraq after church members cheered his death at his funeral.

GOOD. It's about time these bastards pay for their evil behavior. I hope this is merely the beginning.

Church members said Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder's death was God's punishment of America for tolerating homosexuality, and they attended his 2006 funeral in Maryland with signs saying "You're going to hell" and "God hates you."

I wonder how a group of morons like this can claim to be a church and yet apparently have never even cracked open a Bible, much less made a study of it's contents.

The federal jury determined the Westboro Baptist Church, based in Topeka, and three of its principals invaded the privacy of the dead man's family and inflicted emotional distress.

-----------------------------------

"I hope it's enough to deter them from doing this to other families. It was not about the money. It was about getting them to stop," said Snyder, of York, Pennsylvania.

The church, which is unaffiliated with any major denomination, is headed by Rev. Fred Phelps, who has led a campaign against homosexuality for years. Most of the estimated 70 members of the church belong to his extended family.

I am of the belief that the REAL Baptists churches ought to get together and sue these freaks for fraud, slander, and whatever else they can come up with.

No doubt one of the inbred underlings of this clan that holds a law degree will appeal:

"It will take the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals a few minutes to reverse this silly thing," Phelps said.

Well. Thank the Lord they aren't in the 9th Circuit where that would definitely happen!

---------------------------

My friends, if anyone deserves a little old-school righteous arse-kicking, it is the Westboro "Baptist Church."

See previous posts on the evil little trolls here and here.

Too Funny!
