Wild marijuana, commonly called ditch weed, was spotted growing on the Federal courthouse lawn in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
After the weed was confirmed as marijuana, the growth was eliminated. City officials said that seeds must have been in the dirt brought in after recent construction on the site.
"Ditch weed" is often used to make hemp products, as it contains very little of the drug that makes pot smokers high.
Of course, after congress made it illegal to grow any form of the herb in 1970, it wouldn't do to have marijuana sprouting right under the feet of the judges who pass sentence against druggies, would it?
