Muslim Women Sport Full-Body Swimwear

Just because your husband won't let you out of the house without a burqa doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to take a dip on a hot day! After all, you've got to keep up that girlish figure underneath that circus tent Mohammed makes you wear!

In Places where traditional Muslims frequent, the Hasema swimsuit is gaining popularity. The swimsuit consists of a full-body suit, with a hood that is pulled over a tight bonnet. A sarong-like wrap covers those curves. Before, women did not visit the beach or pool, and if they did they would have to remain on the sidelines while the men and children swam.

Women's lib, huh? Soon, they'll be *gasp* reading!

Hasema, the leading manufacturer, is having a hard time keeping up with demand. They say the latest model of swimwear allows the sun through the fabric, so the wearer can even get a tan.

I wonder if tans are haram?

From the Telegraph:

As well as the growing enthusiasm for the full body swimsuits, Muslim camping sites, spas and beach resorts that do not sell alcohol and segregate men and women have sprung up. For example, the Caprice Hotel, on the Aegean coast, advertises "a modern vacation complex... where the sound of prayer is heard five times a day".

Well, sign me up! Can one use their beach towel as a prayer rug? Just asking...
