Picture Thursday.

Because yes, I am that lazy today.

So much for worrying about my car's exhaust:

Dear gawd! If this is true we can't risk it... Better start buying carbon offsets...

Or we could just get Chuck Norris to put an end to all this nonsense:

So the next time I get pulled over, can I pull this?

Earth Hour 2010

Tonight at 20:30, Earth Hour begins. The idea is that we turn off all of the lights and the appliances and sit around in the dark for 60 minutes.

In honor of the science being settled and such, I have decided to engage in global disobedience and turn on every single electrical thing, all the lights at full, start a fire in the backyard and burn multiple packages of styrofoam plates and cups.

Even with all of this, I doubt I could come anywhere near Al Gore's "carbon footprint."

Kiss my posterior, hippies. I'll see you in ten years when we'll be fearing another ice age.

Getting Us Coming and Going...

While Obama and Hillary are busy trying to screw the American people in Copenhagen, the Congress is poised to put a big lump of legislative coal in our stocking on Christmas Eve night.

The will of We The People be damned.

Outrage Trinity:

Three things are pissing me off today. First and foremost, from this source:

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.

The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.

Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.

Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.

That's it, dammit. We ask these men to put their lives on the line and take out high value enemies alive, Obama's administration wants to discipline and tarnish these men over a fat lip?!?

This asshole Abed deserves to be eaten alive by wild pigs for what he is, and we're worried about him getting a fist?

I'm done. Pull them all out. If we can't treat our military right then bring them home.

Next, almost two years ago I put up this post. Well, it turns out Mexican truckers coming over the border isn't such a good thing after all:

LAREDO, Texas (AP) | A U.S. program that offers trusted trucking companies speedy passage across American borders has begun attracting just the sort of customers who place a premium on avoiding inspections: Mexican drug smugglers.

Most trucks enrolled in the program pause at the border for just 20 seconds before entering the United States. And nine out of 10 of them do so without anyone looking at their cargo.

But among the small fraction of trucks that are inspected, authorities have found multiple loads of contraband, including 8 tons of marijuana seized during one week in April.

Some specialists now question whether the program makes sense at a time when drug traffickers are willing to do almost anything to smuggle their shipments into the United States.

Huh. Who would've guessed that this program would be fraught with corruption?

Lastly, Climategate. Where the feck is the midstream media on this one?

When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:

Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.

Fraud, extortion, corruption... C'mon, media, there might be a story here!

Leftist Logic

**Disclaimer: I did not make this up. It is entirely true.**

I was at work last night, ringing up customers shortly before the end of my shift.

A lady comes into my lane with a stack of reusable grocery bags, which I don't mind. To each his own.

(I like the plastic because I can reuse them during the daily scooping of my cat's litter box.)

So, there I am, ringing up her groceries when I noticed that she's buying a lot of styrofoam plates, bowls, and plastic utensils.

Most of the folks that bring reusable bags are environmentalist crusaders, all too happy to tell you about the evils of plastic bags, so after a few moments I just couldn't help myself:

"So, having a big picnic, are you?" I asked.

"No, I have teenagers and I just hate to do dishes."

"Ah."

"I feel bad about all that styrofoam going into the environment, so I figured I'd make up for it by not wasting plastic bags."

I'm cracking up inside at this point, trying like hell to keep a straight face!

"So," I ask, "How are you getting rid of these plates when you're done?"

She looks down a bit sheepishly.

"Ah, I throw them out."

I just cannot help myself and decide to be a smartass:

"I use mine as campfire kindling. It makes excellent kindling, you know."

"Ooh, it is kind of fun to watch it curl up and get all hot while it's in the fire!"

I swear, it must take a special kind of mindlessness to buy into all of that Al Gore 'save the earth' crap!

You just can't make this stuff up...

Environmentalist = Terrorism?

I finally got a day off.

It was a good day... And then I saw this:

he Environmental Protection Agency announced last week that greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare, and on Monday, the agency held the first of two hearings to hear what the public thinks of its finding.

Among the dozens of people offering comments on Monday, one Muslim leader claimed that the war on terror is “really a euphemism” for the battle to control the world’s oil supply.

Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, the director of outreach at the Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Virginia and the head of government relations for the Muslim Alliance of North America, told EPA officials his comments might be upsetting to some.

“I believe sometimes the war on terror is really a euphemism for the wars for oil and natural gas,” Abdul-Malik said at the all-day comment session held at EPA headquarters in Arlington. “Maybe if it were the Hindus who had oil under their feet there would be Hindu fundamentalists and extremists.”

This is just idiotic and wrong on so many levels.

I just can't take it...

Earth Day

Today is Earth Day, and in honor of the occasion I plan on building a large fire in my backyard using styrofoam for kindling, and perhaps throwing on a tire.

Then, I plan on letting the kids each break their own 'green' light bulb and watching them throw it straight into the trash.

Hey, those things have 'green' mercury in them... ;)

Oh, and I think I'll leave the lights on all day and night, too. Maybe I'll open the fridge door and leave it open, and run the oven at 450 all day even though I'm not cooking anything.

Today is gonna be fun.

RFK Squeals Like a Pig

Please take a few minutes and watch the video below:

"Large-scale hog producers are a greater threat to the United States and U.S. democracy than Osama bin Laden and his terrorist network."

Unbelievable.  This is the kind of lunacy we have coming out of the left.

I'll take a pig fart over airplanes slamming into the WTC or a suicide bomber any day, RFK, you raving lunatic!

Political Stupidity Roundup Post:

Another honest mistake on the heels of the Geitner scandal? What are the odds?

WASHINGTON Tom Daschle apologized Monday to the Senate panel that will decide whether he becomes Health and Human Services secretary, saying he was "deeply embarrassed and disappointed" about his failure to pay more than $120,000 in taxes.

Nice. I'm going to claim to be a Democrat and just stop paying my taxes. Why not?

These hypocrites think they're too damned important to have to follow the laws they impose upon us.  They rob us blind and laugh about it until they get caught. Then, its a few "Oops, sorry about thats" and it's back to business as usual.

Next on the roundup is a bit of global warming lunacy:

COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s (England) green adviser has warned.

Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.

Oh, really? Do you mean the kind of state enforced 'family planning' that China employs? If a woman gets pregnant a third time, will she be forced to have an abortion, and then be sterilized while strapped to a table?

Porritt, a former chairman of the Green party, says the government must improve family planning, even if it means shifting money from curing illness to increasing contraception and abortion.

Bullshit to English: The disabled and the elderly will go untreated and die while abortions are freely given.

I wonder if the Muslim population in England would go for this sort of thing? I'd be willing to bet that they'd get an exception for 'religious and cultural' reasons.

Finally, another example of "do as I say and not as I do" from The One:

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama, keeping a campaign pledge, signed a law Thursday to make it easier to sue employers for pay discrimination.

In a ceremony in the East Room of the White House flanked by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden, Obama spoke as Lilly Ledbetter – a former Goodyear Tire manager from Alabama, whose case inspired the new law – stood beside him.

“While this bill bears her name, Lilly knows this story isn’t just about her,” Obama said. “It is a story of women across this country still earning just 78 cents for every $1 men earn, women of color even less, which means that today in the year 2009, countless women are still losing thousands of dollars in salary, income, and retirement savings over the course of a lifetime.”

Women who worked on Obama’s Senate staff last year, however, were themselves paid on average 78 cents for every dollar a man was paid, according to data last year from the Report of the Secretary of the Senate.

Another "honest mistake," I'm sure...

Change Through Taxation

PeTA wants you to go vegan, and they'll use draconian taxation on farmers to get you to do it.

From this source, emphasis mine:

For farmers, this stinks: Belching and gaseous cows and hogs could start costing them money if a federal proposal to charge fees for air-polluting animals becomes law.

Farmers so far are turning their noses up at the notion, which is one of several put forward by the Environmental Protection Agency after theU.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence amounts to air pollution.

"This is one of the most ridiculous things the federal government has tried to do," said Alabama Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, an outspoken opponent of the proposal.

It would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog.

The executive vice president of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation, Ken Hamilton, estimated the fee would cost owners of a modest-sized cattle ranch $30,000 to $40,000 a year. He said he has talked to a number of livestock owners about the proposals, and "all have said if the fees were carried out, it would bankrupt them."

Sparks said Wednesday he's worried the fee could be extended to chickens and other farm animals and cause more meat to be imported.

"We'll let other countries put food on our tables like they are putting gas in our cars. Other countries don't have the health standards we have," Sparks said.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The fee would cover the cost of a permit for the livestock operations. While farmers say it would drive them out of business, an organization supporting the proposal hopes it forces the farms and ranches to switch to healthier crops.

"It makes perfect sense if you are looking for ways to cut down on meat consumption and recoup environmental losses," said Bruce Freidrich, a spokesman in Washington for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

"We certainly support making factory farms pay their fair share," he said.

US Rep Robert Aderholt, a Republican from Haleyville in northwest Alabama, said he has spoken with EPA officials and doesn't believe the cow tax is a serious proposal that will ever be adopted by the agency.

So to Hell with the farmers and to Hell with YOUR CHOICE about what to eat.

You'd better learn to like soy milk and salad three times a day, folks.

Global Cooling?

Look's like Al Gore's global warming racketeering profit might start to suffer a bit!

And here I was thinking global warming wasn't "just a perdiction" anymore. HA!

From this source, all emphasis mine:

Global warning: We are actually heading towards a new Ice Age, claim scientists

It has plagued scientists and politicians for decades, but scientists now say global warming is not the problem.

We are actually heading for the next Ice Age, they claim.

AGAIN?!? You mean like how we were headed towards an ice age in the 1970's?

British and Canadian experts warned the big freeze could bury the east of Britain in 6,000ft of ice.

That's a LOT of ice. I wonder from what orifice they've pulled this estimate?

Most of Scotland, Northern Ireland and England could be covered in 3,000ft-thick ice fields.

The expanses could reach 6,000ft from Aberdeen to Kent – towering above Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain.

And what's more, the experts blame the global change on falling - rather than climbing - levels of greenhouse gases.

What? But I though SUV's were evil! Is my car too small now? Am I not doing my part?

Lead author Thomas Crowley from the University of Edinburgh and Canadian colleague William Hyde say that currently vilified greenhouse gases – such as carbon dioxide – could actually be the key to averting the chill.

Fire up your coal furnaces, folks!

The warning, published in the authoritative journal Nature, is based on records of tiny marine fossils and the earth’s shifting orbit.

Earth's orbit is shifting? How did we manage to cause that? It's got to be our fault, after all.

Maybe we should try blowing up the moon or something. That would affect Earth's orbit.

The Earth has seen dramatic climate fluctuations – veering between cold and warm extremes - over the past three million years, the researchers say.

And changes in the Earth’s orbit and slowly falling levels of carbon dioxide are the cause.

The team says we are approaching a turning point, in the next 10,000 to 100,000 years, which will lead to the new ice sheets smothering much of Europe, Asia and South America.

Damn. And here I believed Ted Turner when he said we would all get to eat people in 30-40 years. Don't I look silly now?

The theory, which is based on computer models, suggests ice sheets will also slash sea levels by up to 300m, so Russia and Alaska will be connected by land.

The North Sea will become part of a huge glacier stretching from Holland and Scandinavia to the Russian Far East.

Professor Crowley said the stark findings do not mean we should stop fighting warming.

But he urged: ‘Don’t push the panic button.’

‘There’s no excuse for saying “we’ve got to keep pumping carbon dioxide into the atmosphere,”’ he told Reuters.

But we have to DO SOMETHING!!! Run around in circles and wring our hands!

‘Geologically it’s tomorrow, but we have lots of time to argue about the appropriate level of greenhouse gases.’

Environmentalist Wackos Loose This One

Environmentalist wackos who tried to prevent the Navy from using sonar have failed:

The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that military training trumps protecting whales in a dispute over the Navy's use of sonar in submarine-hunting exercises off the coast of southern California.

Writing for the majority in the court's first decision of the term, Chief Justice John Roberts said the most serious possible injury to environmental groups would be harm to an unknown number of the marine mammals the groups study.

"In contrast, forcing the Navy to deploy an inadequately trained anti-submarine force jeopardizes the safety of the fleet," the chief justice wrote. He said the overall public interest tips strongly in favor of the Navy.

The Natural Resources Defense Council and other environmental organizations had sued the Navy, winning restrictions in lower federal courts on sonar use.

Dolphins, whales and sea lions are among the 37 species of marine mammals in the area.

The Bush administration argued that there is little evidence of harm to marine life in more than 40 years of exercises.

Joining Roberts' opinion were Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.

The court did not deal with the merits of the claims put forward by the environmental groups. It said, rather, that federal courts abused their discretion by ordering the Navy to limit sonar use in some cases and to turn it off altogether in others.

Read the rest here.

The scary thing is, this is effectively another 5-4 decision, just as with the Second Amendment. With four judges in the majority, two dissenting and two not joining either side, we just barely kept our Navy's ability to effectively defend our nation.

I guess Flipper will just have to get used to the noisy neighbors.

It's Not Easy Being Green...

I'm glad I'm not the only pissed off at the 'green movement' and tired of the bravo-sierra!

Check these out... Just a bit of a language alert for those of you with delicate ears, though. ;)

Insanity Roundup

In order not to give the appearance of being afflicted with a terminal case of ADD, I usually try to keep my posts to just one subject at a time.

Today I couldn't help myself.

First, we have the High Priest of Climatology Al Gore (as usual) not exactly practicing what he preaches:

Next, we have Obama fresh off his tour of the 57 States planning on being President for the next eight to ten years. (Maybe no one's told him that whole voting thing hasn't happened yet.)

I wonder if that was just another little oopsie, or if he's planning on a little Constitutional editing?

And, if you're hungry and you'll bring the syrup, Obama is serving a rather generous helping of waffles:

Last but not least, we have the Islamists up to bat with another example of what it means to be sunnah.

HAIL: In the latest twist to a high-profile marriage in this central Saudi city, a 64-year-old man has announced that he would wait five years to consummate his marriage with his 10-year-old bride.

According to local newspapers yesterday, the man — who has already paid a SR100,000 dowry to the father of the girl and signed the marriage contract — now says he would wait until the girl is 15 to complete the marriage.

Well, that's mighty white of him! Of course, if we take him at his word that he really will wait (which I doubt) that means he'll still be having sex with a fifteen-year-old girl once he's 69 years old whom he bought and forced marriage upon.

I would call that rape, by the way.

But hey, I guess that women's rights are relative, huh?

All Hail the Goreacle:

Found at the campus bookstore at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS:

What would Al Gore Do?

Well, I imagine he'd grow a shaggy beard, eat a whole lot of chunky monkey ice cream, and use about 20 times the energy of the average American family.

When Should You Die?

Proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that the "go green" crowd is completely insane, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has a website that uses cute little cartoons to promote the "climate change" agenda.

Other than using a punk/grunge heroine to diss cops and most normal folks and guilt trip them into being 'green', there is a calculator that tells you when you should die based on your 'carbon footprint.'

You know, so you aren't a burden on the Earth.

It looks like my long flight to and from Hawaii this year along with spending my higher American income on stuff like rent and food gets me killed at age 3.8.
