The Muslim cleric behind the proposed giant mosque near Ground Zero is none other than a major donor to the pro-Hamas Free Gaza movement, the New York Post reported. The cleric, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf also is a key figure in Malaysian-based Perdana Global Peace Organization.
The Free Gaza group has been behind several attempts to break the Israeli sea embargo on Hamas. The latest attempt, under the guise of sending humanitarian aid, was foiled Saturday when the Israeli Navy intercepted the “Rachel Corrie” ship before it could approach the Gaza Coast.
The Perdena organization has donated $366,000 to Free Gaza, which has organized several attempts to break the Israeli sea embargo on Hamas-controlled Gaza. Earlier in the week, the Mavi Marmara ship’s terrorist "activists" opened fire and brutally beat Navy commandos, despite Free Gaza promises that there would be no violence. Free Gaza spokeswoman Greta Berlin has charged that the IDF edited and falsified videos clearly showing that the passengers on the ship initially assaulted commandos before they reached the decks.
“We have two Imam Raufs," Deborah Burlingame, the sister of the American Airlines pilot whose hijacked plane struck the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, told the New York Post. The proposed 13-story mosque and community center, to cost $100 million, has been met with outrage in New York, despite Rauf’s focusing on peace. President Barack Obama's Kenyan aunt can stay in the United States, a U.S. immigration judge has ruled, ending a more than six-year legal battle over her status.
Judge Leonard Shapiro made the decision Friday, court officials told CNN. Two government sources confirmed Monday that the ruling will give legal status to Zeituni Onyango, allowing her to remain in the country.
Onyango's attorneys plan to hold a press conference at 2 p.m. in Ohio.
Onyango, who is the half-sister of the president's late father, applied for political asylum in 2002 due to violence in her native Kenya. She was a legal resident of the United States at the time and had received a Social Security card a year earlier.
Onyango's asylum request was turned down in 2004, and she has been living in the United States illegally since then. She appealed the rejection of her request twice, but was denied each time and ordered to leave the country.
Judge Shapiro gave Onyango permission to remain in the United States in April 2009 while he considered her case.
In February, Onyango arrived at an immigration court in a wheelchair and testified before the judge for more than two hours, her representative, Amy Cohn, told CNN at the time. Two doctors, including her personal physician, also testified on her behalf. Onyango's medical condition was part of her legal defense against expulsion.
White House officials said during the appeals that Obama was staying out of the matter.

First of all, I don't give one shit about "building trust" with "immigrant families", ie MUSLIMS most likely from the most backwater African places, as this is where FGM is typically practiced. Although FGM predates Islam, it is in the Koran and therefore not only some archaic social custom.
And why compromise on a practice that is "not ideal but better than it's alternatives?" No kidding. IDEAL would be labeling the practice barbarous and condemning it. Instead we have a bleeding heart liberal idiot mentality that is incapable of realizing that some cultures are INFERIOR. Now, instead of rejecting misogyny, we let the misogynist simply practice a 'lite' version of it.
Also, I have a hard time believing that an "immigrant family" would settle for anything less than fully mutilating their daughter if they need FGM.
Here's a though... In AMERICA, why don't we charge someone who allows FGM to be performed on their daughter with child abuse and jail them? (Which is a lot nicer than what I would do.)
Finally, FGM is not the same thing as male circumcision. While it is true that there is a Jewish/Christian connotation to circumcision, it does not leave the penis mangled; the male is still able to function properly and enjoy sex. FGM is a way of insuring that the little woman in question doesn't get too hot and bothered and stray from her 'husband'.
Symbolizing this mutilation with a "nick" is it's own act of barbarism.
...Which must mean that they have the right to be beaten, the right to be stoned to death or hanged from a crane, the right to be raped, the right to be denied an education, the right to not be allowed out of the house, the right to be forced to wear a damned potato sack, the right to be told their hair and bodies hold supernatural powers over men, the right to JUST DAYS AGO have law passed that will have any woman who is "too tan" arrested....

Does he really think that any such country wouldn't just attempt to gain nuclear capability under the radar? And what of terrorist sponsoring states? I suppose they can pack as many nail bomb vests as they wish, safe in the knowledge that we will never get to the point of exhaustion with their bullshit and just hit the button, solving the problem once and for all.
And Obama expects that Republicans will just get in line behind this?

Obama childishly responded that he would not respond to Palin, saying, "Because last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues."

WASHINGTON --- Hillary Rodham Clinton's State Department is spending $5.4 million to buy fine crystal stemware for American embassies -- but it won't give the US economy much of a boost.
The contract was given to a tiny Washington, DC, interior designer, which in turn subcontracted the crystal work to a Swedish firm -- snubbing such US companies as the famous manufacturer in Clinton's own back yard, Steuben Crystal of upstate Corning.
The firm didn't even get a chance to bid on the contract, which will outfit embassies and ambassadors' residences with fancy crystal for ritzy functions.
This is ridiculous. If the government had any shame, they'd haul their sorry asses to Wal-Mart and purchase some fifty-cent drinking glasses like the rest of us.
Hell, I'd even be OK if they used plastic cups. What fuels the need to throw extravagant parties at a time like this is beyond me.
And these fools think after wasting an ungodly amount of money on a bunch of glasses, they are qualified to run your health care with no fraud, no waste, and no rationing.
In an utterly insane assertion, Biden and Clinton have decided that Israel's decision to build housing for Israelis on Israeli soil is an insult to America.

"I condemn the decision by the government of Israel to advance planning for new housing units in East Jerusalem," Biden said in a statement. "We must build an atmosphere to support negotiations, not complicate them."
In a stunning display of arrogance, Clinton proceeded to call Netanyahu to berate him.
