Damn vuvzelas. (This is funny, you should watch it.)

And now, for a palate cleanser:

I thought the fellowship of the vuvuzela was hilarious. All the more because I've been tormenting my sister Vivian by calling her Vuvu. Hey, it's a big sister's duty.

The second video was OK, but I never got into Super Mario Bros.

My daughters loved both videos.

lol! Gramma Vuvu.

BTW the word verification is breen. Remember how they say no one had even seen the Breen? Well, just ask Kira & Dukat. They must've gotten a good look at them when they knocked out two Breen and changed into their clothes to rescue Dukat's daughter.

Damn, and they're not talking.

Didn't Kirk kick the crap out of a Breen, or am I thinking of a Gorn, the big lizard thing?

I do believe I would plug my own damn hole if BO sent those nasty horns down to scare me.

That lizardly thing Kirk fought was a Gorn.

Technically, Kira and Dukat should have froze to death inside a Breen's refrigeration containment suit, as they must maintain themselves in the sub-zero climate of their homeworld.

But yeah, they should at least know what a Breen looks like.

Maybe they turned the suit off?

Sure...

Beamish is right about Kirk fighting the Gorn.

BTW did you happen to catch the episode of Mythbusters where they tried to recreate the cannon Kirk made to defeat the Gorn?

RE: the Breen suits. I think it's yet another Trek inconsistency. The YATIs give us something to discuss in obsessive detail :-)

Brooke said...

I didn't catch that MB. LOL!

You know, all Trek inconsistency is due to time travel. ;)

If you like Mythbusters, you should look it up.

Time travel AND bad writing :-)

Meh. DS9 is Rick Berman looking at the pitch for Babylon 5 and going "what if we stole this idea to the hilt and tried to make a Trek show out of it?"

cube said...

Beamish, you're not the first to voice that sentiment, but at the very least give Berman credit for putting his show on the air first. HA!

I enjoyed both shows, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be DS9. Trek finally got back to
strong female characters again.

The Dominion War phase of DS9 is where the B5 plagiarism really becomes egregious.

But, in the abstract, if I told you there's a show about a space station with a commander that becomes a prophet of an alien race who has a highly skilled security chief with a funny hairline that hangs out on the station's main commercial section working for him, a prodigal genius doctor with relationship issues and a drug problem, political struggles back on Earth, all caught in the dynamics of a conquering race reconquering a once subject race while under the influence of a manipulative threat from the other side of the galaxy, would DS9 or B5 spring to mind?

;)
