Outrage Roundup.

First, you can take pride in how your stimulus dollars are being applied:

Next, there's finally going to be a fence on the southern border... Just not ours. Mexico's.

After Obama proved himself to be an anti-Israeli moron at the UN yesterday, the Hitler of Iran Ahmadinejad took the podium and rather than go on his usual Holocaust denying rant, he changed it up a bit. Dinny came out as a troofer, calling for a UN 'fact finding' panel to investigate the US's involvement in 9-11:

He also said that ”the majority of the American people  as well as most nations and politicians around the world” believe that “some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining of the American economy and its grips on the Middle East in order to save the Zionist regime.”

Read the rest here.

The US delegation remained in their seats as Ahmadinejad said all these greviously insulting things only blocks away from Ground Zero.

Over the pond, six men were arrested on 'suspicion of inciting racial hatred' after burning a Koran on 9-11.

''The incident was recorded and a video placed on the internet.''
In a video still accessible on YouTube, six young men in hooded tops or wearing scarves over their faces can be seen pouring petrol on a book and setting it alight, before burning another.
On the video, which appeared to have been filmed behind a pub, they cheer as the first book bursts into flames.
Northumbria Police said the men were not arrested for watching or distributing the video, but on suspicion of burning the Koran.
First off, I just want to say yet again that Islam is not a race, dammit.

And secondly, when other "young men in hooded tops or wearing scarves over their faces" do this kind of protesting in the UK, do they get arrested:

No. Of course they don't.

And finally, should these six fellows have burned the Koran? No. That's just stupid. However, if they bought and owned those Korans it's their damned property and they should be able to do whatever they wish with it. If they burned an IKEA catalogue or a freaking couch they wouldn't have been arrested.

Oh, and speaking of racism in the UK, teachers are now being compelled by law to report... Wait for it... Wait for it... I shit you not... The racist comments of three-year-olds. Again, I shit you not.

UPDATE:

9/24/10 @ 11:40

Could our government get any more farcical or ridiculous if it actively, nakedly tried to be?!?

No, I don't think so.

Those gummint workers were chugging down 40oz beers at noon!
How functionally impaired are they going to be back on the job? And what happens if they get hurt?

It seems like the world is becoming more and more bereft of common sense with each passing day. Insanity rules.

The world has gone completely mad.

Cube: Government subsidized dangerous behavior! What happens when those pot smoking beer buzzed fools install your steering assembly, or brakes, or God knows what else?!?

USA: All madness is possible under government.

Hard to choose just which items should be the outrages of the week, though.

I used to stand in line at the convenience store for cigarettes behind union Chrysler "workers" buying beer. Not just a beer, we're talking 24 can family packs of Milwaukee's Beast.

But they weren't working. They were getting 95% of their pay during a plant shutdown.

This was well before the bailout.

And why they needed a bailout.

I see "upper management" potential written all over those autoworkers. That reporter did what most reporters don't do anymore...go and find the news and report it just the way it is.
