First Contact...

... As analyzed by Mr. Plinkett. Long, but worth the time if you're at all a Trekkie/Trekker/Whatever.

I don't know what's going on, but I can't open this. And I really, really want to...

Open it, dammit! :)

First a pusher and now you sound like Bones!!!

I finally got it to open and I've got to tell you that much of this
was old ground that me and my Trekkie friends revisited many times. I loved the deadpan delivery. Very nice.

One episode of Babylon 5 will cure Trekkism.

Cube: I'm a blogger, not a doctor, dammit. ;P

My biggest gripe with Trek is that they cannot let a series stand on it's own. I wanted to see a TNG movie. If I wanted to see a TOS movie, I would've pulled out a DVD and watched it.

Dave and I watched the TNG reviews yesterday. Tonight we will likely watch Star Wars reviews. Those 'prequels' (my rosy posterior) are blasphemy.

Beamish: HAHAHAHAAA! You and my older bro should go bowling! You could talk B5 all day.

I love the intro line into this review: "Star Trek Generations is the stupidest movie ever made."

I was so disgusted by the TNG movies.

Troi sucks. I love that Plinkett harshes on her. :)

beamish: You are full of shit. Trek had it's problems, but Babylon was never even close to Trek. Sorry. Forgetabboutit.

Brooke: Yeah, there were tons of stuff wrong with Generations, but guess what, I still loved it. I loved seeing Kirk again. I didn't love it as much as "First Contact", but I still loved it. I guess I have a mental illness... Trekism. Despite all the mental illness, Troi always sucked. What was that accent all about?

Hilarious.

That is a hard core fan and could not suspend disbelief and enjoy the movie.

Brooke,

Is your brother aware that Minbari society is based on "Valen" / Capt. Sinclair's Jesuit studies of Plato's Republic?

;)

Brooke said...

Curiously, they gave it an Islamic name.

I don't know a whole lot about B5, though. Aren't the Minbari the ones with the thing on the back of the head? ;)

Yes. Minbari are boneheads.

Like Plato's Republic, they were divided into warrior, worker, and religious castes by their propet Valen, who was really a time-traveled Captain Sinclair.

Sinclair is technically Dalenn's ancestor.

All kidding aside, how many teaspoons are in an isoton?

I don't know the answer to that one, but I do know tachyons can do anything
