Some of you may recall my
posting a conversation between a former Marine friend a bit ago.
Well, here's one with a high-school friend over the Chic-Fil-A situation. Let me know what you think:
I never go on a rant here on face book, but this chick fil a thing really worries me about people. It is bigotry at its finest and shameful for those who call themselves "Christians". I look at the photos of people standing in line saying this is all for the freedom of speech. But, I feel I'm watching a clan rally. I look at these people and I am reminded of those who have lost their lives for being LGBT, and it breaks my heart. Christ died for us all not just white bred Americans, and people wonder why the modern church is not making an impact on the world when all they do is spread hate. Christ has called all of you to love each other, not judge. Can you ever take yourselves out of your shoes and even try to picture yourselves with the struggles they have? To be beaten, tortured, raped and killed for just loving others? I think of some of my friends past and present and think of the struggles they have to go through in life. But no we must parade Mr chick fil a around as a "saint" or a martyr for not being open on a Sunday and not liking those gays being married. Give me a break folks it has nothing to do with politics it all comes down to hate. Next they will have to have separate schools or separate drinking fountains. People are disgusting.

I guess free speech is history unless you are libtard. I think we are well on the road to a socialist nation.
I guess even the Marines have their share of brain dead liberals.
It all sounds very queer to me.
Rob Hudson I myself was being kind. Religion of all forms should be banned. Nd have you ever read the bible from front to back? Such a loving god! Or should i say fairy tale?

Brooke Tarvin If you take it as only a book, banning is fascistic. Our Constitution guarantees that the secular government shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. (Providing that religion isn't doing something grievous, like, oh, human sacrifice, ect.)
What you are proposing is a totalitarian dictatorship based upon your opinions of another people's views.

Rob Hudson Such a book of high morals! A god so insecure that he played with a man's love for his son by asking him to kill his son. Then stopping him at the last second to say "my bad!" Or drowning thousands of innocent women, kids and animals for no good reason. Or destroying an innocent man's life in a bet with the devil. Should I go on?

Rob Hudson Eddie i respectfully disagree with you. You are a person who uses logic, reason and humbleness. I just have no tolerance for religion. But Eddie has my respect fully.

Punk Johnny Cash Pro-Speech? Brooke Tarvin So are we going to protest for the right of white racists to call black people the N word, or even for the right of misogynists to call women the c word?

Punk Johnny Cash I still always fail to see why 'freedom of speech' is used to justify oppression of a people group.

Brooke Tarvin No one oppressed anyone.
What about the New Black Panthers using the First Amendment to intimidate voters in 2008? Whitey ain't the only one who can be racist! Why can't people see that racism is a universal affliction?
Oh, and I got called a cunt at a friend's blog for daring to disagree with the individual mandate... By a self-proclaimed tolerant leftist, too.

Punk Johnny Cash pointing to one groups racism doesn't negate the other. That was a reference to what you were called in that incident.

Brooke Tarvin Yeah, but I think that people should be free to say what they want. Judge their speech and its validity after that!
For, say, Rob to display a lack of historical knowledge of oppression and advocate suppression of freedom based on his own hatred is wrong. That was my point. For him to point out one group's (debatable) problems and not the other's is, as I said, disingenuous at the least.
