As informed today by my doctor, I am apparently going to have to fight Workman's Comp to get a CT of my injured knee. It's cheaper than an MRI, and because I have previously installed hardware in my elbow I cannot have the latter, yet they still have a bean counter ready to deny my meager claim. Ugh.
Welcome to Obamacare.
Just try to soldier on and do your job and surpass their magic number of days to follow up by a little while and suddenly you're in the appeal process. Bullocks.
Anyway, it's that time of the year to go through the storage tubs in the basement and figure out what clothing fits which kid still... or not. Everything we cannot use goes to the Vietnam Vets for pickup tomorrow morning right before I head out for my twelve-hour shift.
Believe you me, a bonfire and cigar will ensue after all of that. ;)

Good luck with the knee. I'm waiting on the weekend myself! Enjoy the bonfire and cigar.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar ;)

begin snark
It's a good thing the government's got your back then ...
end snark
Workman's comp is a terrible circuitous mess to have to navigate. Been there, done that.
The son of a family friend is gotten into a mess in Florida with comp over his shoulder. I gave them a few ideas on how to look into things but fear they have a long slog.
oish good luck with the knee hun..12 hr shift..Good Lord....Have a nice weekend~!
Thanks, all.
The doc thinks it is a meniscus (sp?) injury. I'll bet by the time I get them to approve what should have been a simple repair, I'll need an entire new knee. Ugh.
Meniscus is a real easy repair...in and out; my friend just had it and it was entirely successful. I can't believe they're fighting you on this!
She had trouble only certain days and mostly going upstairs, I believe she said.
Good luck, Brooke....
Hope you get your knee tended before Obamacare kicks in because that's only going to make things
worse.
