Belated Memorial Day

Let me just start off by saying, yes, I know that Memorial Day is to honor our fallen soldiers.

That said, I think we must keep in mind that our living soldiers could, at any moment, be asked to give all in defense of this country and her People.

I haven't posted in a while due to work, which included a long shift on the holiday yesterday.

I have a bumber sticker that says, "My brother is in the Army" and looks like this:

When I came out to go home, someone had written on a napkin, "Tell your brother THANKS!!!"

Sometimes I forget that people can be so good. What a heart warmer that was... And I got a call from my brother last night almost immediately after I got home. No reason, he said. Just wanted to chat with his Sis. He was touched when I told him about the note.

My gratitude to the person who took the time to leave that note under my windshield wiper.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and Auld Lang Syne to all of my wonderful blogging buddies!

And to ensure that you have a haram new year, I'm giving you all a bit of German good luck... A pair of Meishan piglets:

Let's not forget to enjoy our extra second this year, and let's also appreciate the irony in the Clintons being chosen to 'drop the ball.'

I couldn't have put it any better myself.

Memorial Day Pt.2

I finally found my keys and got my camera out of the car, so here are the Memorial Day pics I shot on Sunday!

Tonight, Dave is away on business and the children are asleep. It's just little 'ol me here, so I snapped a quick shot of our Dane, Fortune, dutifully guarding the couch. Notice one of our cats, Jack, supervising.

Memorial Day

First and foremost, I want to honor all of my blogging buddies who've served, and all other men and women who have answered the call to protect our nation!

Sorry about the belated wishes!

Yesterday was a wonderful Memorial Day. The school band and local girl and boy scouts put on a nice parade which ended in the cemetery. There was a very lovely sermon given to honor our soldiers, a prayer, and taps played by the high school marching band.

I  have a few pics, but the camera is in the car and Dave's at work with the keys. I can't find my set...

After that, we splurged with the gas and headed out to the flea market. The weather was wonderful, there was pie and ice cream, and I found a bumper sticker that says, "My brother is in the Army" next to the army logo. (I just heard that little bro is due to graduate basic on July 18th. We're going to make every effort to cross the states between us and be there! )

Dave put it on the car and we were on our way home for pizza!

Very cool day!

Happy Easter!

I was wondering what kind of post to have for Easter; so many other bloggers have done such a better and more eloquent job than I could hope to do.

So here it is: Happy Easter, and thank you Jesus!

That is all.

It's St. Paddy's Day...

... What kind of beer are you?

You Are Guinness
You know beer well, and you'll only drink the best beers in the world.
Watered down beers disgust you, as do the people who drink them.
When you drink, you tend to become a bit of a know it all - especially about subjects you don't know well.
But your friends tolerate your drunken ways, because you introduce them to the best beers around.
