A traditional English carol with Celtic overtones, undoubtedly hearkening back to Druid reverence for holly and ivy. Represents a transitioning from the Druid meaning to one with Christian meaning. Some of the lyrics in use today date back to at least 1710.

One of my absolute favorites!
There are many melodic versions of this particular carol, but the one post here is my favorite.

Our Founders would have known, played, and sung this carol.
I'm glad you two like it; it is one of my favorites, Christmas or not!
One of my very, very favorites is, 'O Come, O Come Emmanuel', rendered by Carter's Chord.
I would love to post it, but it is just impossible to find on YouTube and such.
If you have a buck or so burning a hole in your pocket, please go to iTunes and download it, and let me know what you think if you do!
Merry Christmas Brooke!
Right back at'cha, Odie! :)
