Terrorism and Global Warming

It seems that Osama bin Laden has reared his head once again to blame the Great Satan. This time, we're wholly responsible for 'global warming.'

Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming, according to a new audiotape released Friday.

In the tape, broadcast in part on Al-Jazeera television, bin Laden warned of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to stop it is to bring "the wheels of the American economy" to a halt.

He blamed Western industrialized nations for hunger, desertification and floods across the globe, and called for "drastic solutions" to global warming, and "not solutions that partially reduce the effect of climate change."

Bin Laden has mentioned climate change and global warning in past messages, but the latest tape was his first dedicated to the topic. The speech, which included almost no religious rhetoric, could be an attempt by the terror leader to give his message an appeal beyond Islamic militants.

Hello? Leftists, are you getting this?

Have you noticed that OBL's talking points are almost identical to those of the Left?!?

Global warming is a fraud. We all know it; the emails from 'Climategate' prove it, and the continuation of policy and taxation to somehow stop it is nothing more than a get rich scheme for politicians.

Hell, Al Gore's explosion of wealth while he consumes more energy than half the State of Tennessee proves that.

Osama bin Laden knows that the one way to defeat America is to render her as poor and third world as the hellhole he comes from. We've proven to him that he cannot do that with terrorist attacks, so the next logical choice is to get us to destroy our economy and energy capabilities, and idiot leftists will go along happily as long as they can make a buck in the short run.

And while we're mentioning international terrorists, when the hell is the dumbass who is supposed to be in charge of protecting us from them going to be fired?

Janet Napolitano sure as hell made sure to get her face time in front of the camera at the State of the Union address, but earlier that day she couldn't be bothered to do her job.

Top Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee publicly scolded Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for failing to show up at a Wednesday hearing where the committee examined the attempted Christmas Day suicide bombing of Northwest Flight 253. One Democrat on the committee said he wanted to know “where the hell” Napolitano was.

That evening, Napolitiano did prominently show up at the Capitol to attend President Barack Obama's State of the Union address. But earlier in the day, she dispatched Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Jane Holl Lute to testify on her behalf in the Homeland Security Committee on what went wrong in the homeland-security process that allowed would-be suicide-bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to board a plane bound from Amsterdam to the Detroit.
------------------------------------------------------

Democrats openly expressed their dismay with Napolitano as the hearing proceeded. Rep. Chris Carney (D.-Pa.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Management, Investigations and Oversight, said during his question period: “I am very dismayed that the Secretary herself isn’t here. I mean it’s probably fair to ask: “Where the Hell is Secretary Napolitano?”

Rep. Jane Harman (D.-Calif.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Intelligence, said: "I would like to welcome our witnesses but comment on the absence of Secretary Napolitano. This is the committee with primary jurisdiction over the Department of Homeland Security. She is the secretary of Homeland Security. She is in Washington, D.C. She was invited to testify at this very important hearing, and she should have been here. … I am very personally disappointed that she isn’t here.”

Maybe she was just too embarrassed to show after her moronic "the system worked" comment.

Well, I'm surprised to find that old Osama is such a good citizen of the world. I doubt his concern for global warming will keep him from spraying anthrax around if he can latch on to some.

Angel: Thanks for the update, and you have a good one, too!

Cube: Not going to terrorist arraignments, apparently.

What else, indeed?

Hermit: Well, according to Napolitano, that would be a "man caused disaster", so not to worry...

I swear, it just gets more and more absurd!

With OBL urging us to destroy ourselves with cap and trade and similar global warming bullshit spending, Obama does this:

The story was first reported in the Orlando Sentinel, which detailed that the forthcoming budget will include no funding for lunar landers, no moon bases, and no Constellation program at all. Instead, NASA will outsource space flight to other governments (such as the Russians) and private companies.

NASA's Constellation program aimed to create a new generation of spacecraft for human spaceflight, consisting primarily of the Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles, the Orion crew capsule and the Altair Lunar Lander. These spacecraft would have been capable of performing a variety of missions, from International Space Station resupply to lunar landings.

But according to the Sentinel, White House insiders and agency officials say NASA will eventually look at developing a new "heavy-lift" rocket that one day will take humans and robots to explore beyond low Earth orbit years in the future -- and possibly even decades or more.
In the meantime, the White House will direct NASA to concentrate on Earth-science projects -- principally, researching and monitoring climate change -- and on a new technology research and development program that will one day make human exploration of asteroids and the solar system possible.

Well wait a minute; if we consider all the hot air that comes out of the White House and Congress these days, factor in the 48% of Americans who think Ă˜bama is peachy keen, then isn't it possible for Obama sin-Laden to be right about this?

Just asking ... Heh

Nice post Brooke, thanks.
Yes, Janet was probably home binging on Neopolitan ice cream with her girlfriend.

There were pictures of her sleeping soundly at the state of the union big lie.

Agree, Obama and his idiot DEM congress can redistribute $trillions to Acorn scum and others in the DEM's dependency plantation. But no money for new rockets when the space shuttles are way past their intended life time. We might just need new rockets someday to replace our aging satellite system too. Not to mention that we haven't had a new strategic missile since Reagan.
