Illegals Hitting Home

For some time now, I've been an outspoken opponent of illegal aliens "immigrating" to our country.

So too is my county's Sheriff, Richard Jones. (Check out his blog, if you want a good cop read!)

Imagine my surprise when I read this story in the news today. Fairfield is a stone's throw from my home; I could drive there in under five minutes, and walk there on foot with little difficulty.

All emphasis mine:

CINCINNATI (Reuters) - Hundreds of U.S. immigration agents raided the Koch Foods Inc. chicken plant in Fairfield, Ohio, and arrested more than 160 employees as part of a criminal operation against illegal immigrants, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said on Tuesday.

As I said, Fairfield is a very short distance from my home, and Koch foods is a fairly large employer in this area.

"As of 2:45 p.m. (EDT) more than 180 Koch employees have been identified for further questioning and more than 160 have been administratively arrested for immigration violations," ICE special agent in charge Brian Moskowitz told a news conference in Cincinnati.

In other words, they're illegal aliens. Good thing Sheriff Jones has secured 287(g) immigration authority for Butler County... Which means we are one of only about seven state/and or local law enforcement agencies with the power to enforce deportation.

Moskowitz said employees faced a range of charges including illegal reentry to the United States, identity theft, document fraud, social security fraud and forgery. Koch Foods was being investigated for federal crimes including encouraging, inducing or harboring illegal aliens.

Uh-huh. Real 'hard-working' and 'honest' people there, huh, leftards?

ICE said in a statement the raid by more than 300 agents was "part of a two-year, ongoing ICE investigation based on evidence that Koch Foods may have knowingly hired illegal aliens at its poultry processing and packaging facility."

The raid at Koch Foods, which produces chicken for export, food service and retail markets, began at 10 a.m. EDT. Moskowitz said simultaneous search warrants were executed at the plant near Cincinnati and Koch's Chicago headquarters.

Calls to Koch Foods, based in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois, were unanswered. Koch Foods is not affiliated with Wichita, Kansas,-based Koch Industries, the largest private company in the United States, a Koch Industries spokeswoman said.

Tim Bachman, development services director for the city of Fairfield, said the plant employs about 500 workers.

With 160 illegals, that makes OVER A QUARTER of Koch's employees ILLEGAL.

This month the Bush administration said it would increase scrutiny and impose heftier fines on U.S. businesses that employ illegal immigrants. The administration had lobbied Congress unsuccessfully for an overhaul of immigration laws.

The raid was the latest targeting businesses employing illegal workers. In December 2006, hundreds of employees were detained in raids at Swift & Co. meat plants in six states, part of a probe into identity theft involving illegal immigrants.

Many U.S. meat industry workers are immigrants, mainly Hispanics.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones, one of the country's most outspoken opponents of illegal immigration, has lobbied Washington for better enforcement and deportation of undocumented workers.

"I've been saying for 2-1/2 years 'We're coming, ... don't hire illegals, don't violate the law,"' Jones told the news conference. "I personally have no sympathy for you whatsoever, None. Zero."

GOOD ON YOU, Sheriff Jones! I could not be prouder to have voted for you!

A handful of protesters shouting "this is an outrage" tried to disrupt the news conference.

"These are working people, these are family people, they are keeping our economy growing. They should not be arrested. What's happening to their children?" said Dan LaBotz, carrying a sign reading "Stop the attack on immigrant families."

I swear to gawd, my head's gonna explode! Did this asshat miss the part of the story that talked about the illegal reentry (re: repetitive border violation) to the United States, identity theft, document fraud, social security fraud and forgery? These illegals work harder at breaking our laws than anything else!

Immigration advocates in Cincinnati said the force used during the raids was terrifying the local community, including U.S.-born children who fear their immigrant parents will be taken away.

Boo-hoo. If these illegals cared one whit about their children, they wouldn't have put them in the position of having a criminal parent(s).

"I got a call from one woman this morning and her husband was just picked up at the chicken processing plant," said Shelly Jarrett Bromberg, director of the Butler County Community Alliance.

She said officials believe raids "will send back others through fear. The children don't understand and are now going home and asking if they're going to be arrested."

Since our laws are such that these kids are citizens, I say let them either be put up for adoption, or let their parents take them back to wherever, and they can choose to utilize their U.S. citizenship when they come of age.

Oh, and I SINCERELY hope that this raid does send some illegals back through fear. GOOD!!! That's less work for our DECENT law enforcement folks! It's way past high time that we start sending strong messages to these scumbags.

It seems that the local folk have a very short memory... And that's just the very tip of the iceberg!

ICE said those who had been detained would be taken to a processing facility in the Cincinnati area and procedures to remove them from the United States would begin. But it noted that some may be released for humanitarian reasons -- for example, the sole caregiver to children.

Remove them all, I say; let them do just what I said a few paragraphs ago. We should not be giving humanitarian aid to criminals.

An ARMED Population.

And now, for a bit of good news:
GENEVA (Reuters) - The United States has 90 guns for every 100 citizens, making it the most heavily armed society in the world, a report released on Tuesday said.

U.S. citizens own 270 million of the world's 875 million known firearms, according to the Small Arms Survey 2007 by the Geneva-based Graduate Institute of International Studies.

About 4.5 million of the 8 million new guns manufactured worldwide each year are purchased in the United States, it said.

"There is roughly one firearm for every seven people worldwide. Without the United States, though, this drops to about one firearm per 10 people," it said.

GOOD!!!

Moron Update

Let me preface this by saying that I deplore the idea of beauty pageants, and teen pageants in particular.

I mean, talk about catering to degenerates, and in the latter case, to pedophiles...

But, keeping in line with my string of ADD postings, I just HAD to share this clip from the Miss Teen USA beauty pageant:

Wow... Just wow.
Life has been good, but hectic around here for a few days; and as a result I haven't really been doing any serious stuff in my posts.

And, with apologies, I haven't been reading my blogging buddies' sites... Which I hope to rectify later today, before my daughter's first grade orientation! ACK!

Yes, tomorrow is the big day... First Grade.

There was also the business of my hubby getting the Uberti, and I finally broke down and admitted I need a new bed, so we took a trip to the Select Comfort store and, even though I don't like to do it, we financed a bed.

The hubby figures that the cost will be worth it in the end, especially if he gets a wife who doesn't wake up with headaches and lower back pain... You know, a happier, less grumpy wife.

He says a little OT is gladly in order... You've gotta love a man who'll do so much for his girl! :D

Also, I am embarrassed to admit that yours truly received a traffic ticket in my grandmother's neighborhood for not stopping completely at a stop sign.

My first traffic ticket in 12 years. *sigh*

The trouble is, when I call the court to pay the cursed thing, the clerk keeps telling me they don't have it on record and that the officer should have turned it in by now. Hopefully, when I call today it'll be there... I wonder what happens he doesn't turn it in? Do I go to court on the date and pay it then?

I don't want the stupid thing to turn up a year from now and then I wind up with a warrant.

So in closing, I'll be making the rounds later today, and until then I've found a pretty good cartoon for you all:

Islam Respects The Ladies, Yet Again:

Who says the "religion of peace" doesn't respect women?

From al-Reuters:

(All emphasis mine)
HYDERABAD, India (Reuters) - Muslim protesters assaulted the exiled Bangladeshi author and feminist Taslima Nasreen at a book launch in Hyderabad on Thursday, incensed by her repeated criticism of Islam and religion in general.

Some radical Muslims hate Nasreen for saying Islam and other religions oppress women.

On Thursday, lawmakers and members of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party attacked her at the press club in Hyderabad at the launch of a Telugu translation of one of her novels.

An uneasy-looking Nasreen backed into a corner as several middle-aged men threw a leather case, bunches of flowers and other objects at her head and threatened her with a chair, according to a Reuters witness and television pictures.

Some of the mob shouted for her death.

Other men tried to shield her and catch the projectiles. She ended up with a bruised forehead, and described the attack as barbaric before being taken to safety by police.

Nasreen fled Bangladesh for the first time in 1994 when a court said she had "deliberately and maliciously" hurt Muslims' religious feelings with her Bengali-language novel "Lajja", or "Shame", which is about riots between Muslims and Hindus.

At the time, thousands of radical Muslims protested against her, demanding that she be killed for blasphemy, and some have continued to threaten her life ever since.

Police said they have arrested three state lawmakers from the political party along with 15 party workers.

Nasreen - sometimes spelled "Nasrin" - was born in
to a Muslim family in Bangladesh, a conservative, predominantly Islamic country.

The author, who lives in Kolkata, now describes herself as a secular humanist, and criticises religion as an oppressive force.

In 2004, a Muslim cleric offered a $440 reward to anyone who was able to successfully humiliate Nasreen by blackening her face with shoe polish or ink or by garlanding her with shoes.

She worked as a doctor before turning to writing,
and several of her books have been banned in India and Bangladesh because they upset hardline Muslims.

The European Parliament awarded her the Sakharov Prize for
freedom of thought in 1994.

Do you ever notice how apostate Muslims cannot bring themselves to religion EVER again? One can hardly blame them, after getting a taste of Mohammad's brand of peace and love.

One is forced to wonder why, despite innumerable instances of such violence against women (and worse) the left and, in particular, feminists are willing to turn a blind eye to the horrific mistreatment of women under Islam, content to chalk it up to "cultural" differences. They often claim that the Muslima chooses her hijabed lifestyle of veritable slavery to a man and unforgiving Prophet.

Women who suffer at the hands of a domestic abuser often choose not to prosecute, and to remain with her abuser. This doesn't make the "choice" correct, but instead shows that they have been emotionally abused to the point that they are incapable of acting rationally to stop the violence.

Take the four basic characteristics of "Battered Woman's Syndrome:"

1. The woman believes that the violence was her fault.

2. The woman has an inability to place the responsibility for the violence elsewhere.

3. The woman fears for her life and/or her children's lives.

4. The woman has an irrational belief that the abuser is omnipresent and omniscient.

Sound familiar... Kind of like the day to day life of a female follower of a certain "peaceful" religion, huh?

The day that women are no longer abused by the Neanderthal followers of a corrupt and evil "prophet" is the day the rest of the world will no longer suffer from the less-than peaceful overtures of Islam:

Illegal Aliens: They're ALL Good Folks... Riiiight.

Remember hearing about the three college-bound students who were murdered a few weeks ago, shot execution-style in the back of the head with no apparent motive?

Well, surprise:

The murderer is an illegal alien from Peru... But wait, it gets better:

When this heinous crime was committed, this illegal was out on bond after being charged with raping a five-year-old girl.

From this source:

A Peruvian national in the U.S. illegally and who was previously charged with raping a 5-year-old girl pleaded not guilty Friday in the execution-style slayings of three young college students, a day after he surrendered to the Newark mayor.

Jose Carranza, 28, aka Jose La Chira, entered his plea before Essex County Superior Court Judge Michael Casale. A second suspect, a 15-year-old boy, has been held pending a detention hearing, and authorities said more arrests were "imminent."

Carranza, of Peru, was being held on $1 million bail. He turned himself in to Newark Mayor Cory Booker after his fingerprints were lifted from a bottle in connection with the shootings of four college students on Saturday. Three were killed but a fourth survived and was hospitalized after the shootings in a Newark schoolyard.

FOX News has learned Carranza, who has a fake Social Security number, had been arrested on charges of raping a 5-year-old girl and then threatening the child and her parents. In that case he faced a 31-count indictment.

In another, he was arrested on assault charges stemming from a bar fight.

Immigration officials apparently were aware of Carranza's illegal status since his prior arrests, according to Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura.

Read the rest at your leisure.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Newark a "sanctuary city?"

What will it take before our borders are secured, and we have some measure of safety against these marauding invaders?

Was Carranza simply "doing a job that Americans won't do?"

24: NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Fox may have just hammered the final nail in the proverbial coffin of my beloved 24:

After a less than superior season six, it has been announced that Janeane Garofalo will be joining the season seven cast.

Say it ain't so!

Maybe Jack should consider a different job this time around. With Tony Snow set to resign shortly, he could always apply at the White House:

Spiders FREAK ME OUT!!!

I have a phobia of spiders. A big one. I can't stand the sight of them; not even pictures. When one comes on the television screen, I have to look away.

I tried to post a picture of a real baboon spider, but I just couldn't do it. (You should just Google it if you really want to see one of the horrid things.)

It's irrational, I know, but after reading this, I found myself cringing.

From this source, all emphasis mine:

SMITHTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - An orange tarantula with venomous fangs was rescued Friday after its owner said he could no longer care for it.

"This is the kind of spider that nightmares are made of," said Roy Gross, chief of the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

He said t
he spider is aggressive and can jump 3 feet and bite with its large fangs. The bites are dangerous to humans.

The spider, known as an ornate golden baboon, has a fat body
5 inches long that is covered in orange hair. Male baboon spiders can have a leg span of about 8 inches, and the female is even larger.

Gross said he was glad the owner, whose name was not released, called the SPCA instead of dumping the spider.

"This spider is so aggressive, it will bite you just to bite you,
" he said. "It's not a pet you want to cuddle up with at night."

Baboon spiders have a life span of up to 25 years, are native to southern Africa and spend most of their time near their nests, which are usually holes in the ground.

The SPCA took the spider to a sanctuary for reptiles and other animals.

This thing is naturally vicious. So much for my hubby telling me that they're more afraid of me than I am of them.

**Shudder**

Catholic Allah?!?

I was all set to write a big post about this, but it looks like American Crusader already beat me to it...

Here's the quick version:

AMSTERDAM - A Roman Catholic Bishop in the Netherlands has proposed people of all faiths refer to God as Allah to foster understanding, stoking an already heated debate on religious tolerance in a country with one million Muslims.

Bishop Tiny Muskens, from the southern diocese of Breda, told Dutch television on Monday that God did not mind what he was named and that in Indonesia, where Muskens spent eight years, priests used the word "Allah" while celebrating Mass.

"Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn't we all say that from now on we will name God Allah? ... What does God care what we call him? It is our problem."

There is just about no way in Hell I'm going to incur God's wrath by referring to Him as "Allah."

What's next, are we to start calling Christ "Mohammed?" Because after all, the First Pillar states, "La ilaha illa Allah wa-Muhammad rasul Allah, " or " There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his Prophet."

And as I recall, that is basically Christ's job description, right?

Pair this with Always on Watch's recent posts here and here about forcing doctors and cops to honor Ramadan fasting, and you've got a very nice sampler platter of dhimmitude coming out of the UK this month.

Sickening.

Fab-ulous!

Important News Concerning Iran

Finally, some sense coming from the White House!

The U.S. has decided to classify Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps as a "specially designated global terrorist."

My next question is, if Ahmadinejad is calling the shots, (An Iranian Commander in Chief?) does that designate him as a terrorist? And, if so, will Dinny escalate the situation to war?

Treason Most Foul, Communism, and Islam.

I must admit that I am still wrapping my head around this one... but sadly, I am not surprised.

From this source, all emphasis mine:

MACON, Ga. — Some Macon residents have called for demonstrations and boycotts after the mayor of the central Georgia city formally reached out to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez with a declaration of solidarity.

Mayor Jack Ellis said the declaration, sent about two weeks ago by courier, was a message that local leaders can stand together despite disagreements at the highest reaches of government.

Some local leaders have blasted the mayor's decision to support Chavez, a vocal ally of Iran and Cuba who has called President Bush "the devil."

Former mayoral candidate David Corr said the mayor's comments were "an outrage."

"We should condemn Chavez as an enemy of liberty," Corr said. "In fact, we should also condemn Ellis as an enemy of liberty."

State Rep. Allen Peake, R-Macon, said the mayor's action "taints" the town.

"I think it's a negative for us," he told The Macon Telegraph. "We need to be doing things in this community that show the tremendous positives of Macon."

Ellis praised the controversial leader, who has subsidized the cost of heating fuel for some American low-income citizens, as a champion for the common man who could offer aid to Macon's residents.

"This is about a humanitarian effort," he said. "This is not about politics."

A Venezuelan Web site reported that Chavez had thanked Ellis for his support during an eight-hour broadcast of his show "Alo, Presidente," which he used to call for a "global alliance of civilizations to resist the attacks of U.S. imperialism."

The mayor's decision prompted 20 pages of comments on The Telegraph's online message board before the newspaper decided to take it down. Some called for demonstrations and other ways to signal their distaste for the mayor's move.

Ronald Johnson, a 71-year-old resident of nearby Houston County, called the move "treasonous" and is urging neighbors to boycott the city's businesses until Ellis is rebuked by city officials.

"It's unbelievable that he would do what he's done," said Johnson. "That is so wrong."

Ellis, a Democrat, is serving his second term as mayor and cannot seek re-election because of term limits.

He announced in February that he had converted to Islam and was working to legally change his name to Hakim Mansour Ellis. Ellis, who was raised Christian, said he became a Sunni Muslim during a December ceremony in the west African nation of Senegal.

Kinda gives 'ya a warm feeling inside, huh?

1938?

It looks like Tehran is giving the Democrats their marching orders again.

From al-Reuters:

An end to violence in Iraq depends on the United States withdrawing its troops, Iran told Iraq's prime minister on Thursday, seeking to deflect the blame for bloodshed that Washington directs at Tehran.

Sure, the violence perpetrated by Iranian terrorists will stop as soon as we're not there to oppose them!

Who doesn't think that Iran won't take over Iraq the second the last US soldier catches a transport out of the country?

Just as Hitler moved into Poland, Ahmadinejad will move on Iraq.

Habla Espanol O Vayase.

Here's a jaw-dropping story you won't find in the MSM:

From this source:

Tom McKenna is a longtime Stuart businessman who speaks only English.

He says that's why he's being kicked out of the storefront on South Dixie Highway where he has run Seacoast Water Care for seven years.

"I don't know how else to put it," said McKenna, 51.

I'm not sure I do either.

On July 5 — the day after Independence Day — McKenna received a letter from landlord Ivan Munroe telling him to consider another location.

Munroe said in his letter he wants to have "quality tenants serving the Spanish need in the area."

"I guess I don't serve the 'Spanish need,' whatever that means," McKenna said.

"I have plenty of Spanish-speaking workers come in here to buy water for their landscaping crews," he said. "And people in the neighborhood use the vending machines out front to fill their water bottles for their homes."

The building is on the east side of Dixie Highway, south of Indian Street in Golden Gate. Directly south of McKenna's store, across Southeast Ellendale Street, is a Texaco gas station where men, most of whom speak primarily Spanish, gather to wait for someone to hire them for day labor.

The population of the Golden Gate neighborhood east of McKenna's store also has become mostly Spanish-speaking.

To McKenna, that's irrelevant, as it should be. A customer is a customer is a customer.

But all the signs for the check-cashing store and the Mexican restaurant that share the building with McKenna are in Spanish.

Apparently the signs for Seacoast Water Care don't fit in. They're in English.

Munroe pretty much admitted that's one of the reasons he wants McKenna to move.

"I can have a vision, can't I? And his business just doesn't fit there," Munroe said. "He's not a good tenant, that's my opinion. He's been late on the rent."

Munroe said he had other problems with McKenna: a forklift that was never moved from the front of the store and salt and other supplies in messy piles in an unprotected side yard facing Dixie Highway.

But what Munroe said about prospective tenants is the real clincher.

"Mexican people come in, you know they're going to stay. You know they're going to pay the rent," Munroe said.

I guess seven years in the same location isn't staying power.

And as far as the rent goes, don't rent to mainly English-speaking guys like McKenna — if you follow Munroe's business model.

Munroe is a private business owner, and he can do anything he wants with his property including fulfill his "vision."

But there's a double standard, and I don't think Munroe is a villain as much as he's the symptom of a bigger societal ill: Try telling a minority business owner to leave so you can bring in a quality tenant to serve the need of the English-speaking population.

You'd have activists organizing protests so quick it'd make the annual snowbird migration seem slow.

McKenna said it's going to cost between $10,000 and $15,000 to move — assuming he can even find another storefront in 30 days.

And he knows he's going to lose some of the customers he's served for seven years.

I asked him why he didn't get an attorney and fight.

"After this? I don't want to be here," McKenna said.

I don't blame him.

Now imagine, if you will, the reverse of this story. A business landlord tells a Spanish-speaking businessman to hit the bricks because he can't speak English and the landlord "has a vision."

How many ways do you figure the doo-doo would be hitting the fan? Do you think we'd be up to our armpits in this story, 24/7, or do you think we'd be hearing nary a peep? I wonder how many "activists" would be crawling out of the woodwork?

Don't Be TOO Patriotic:

One year after getting special permission to fly an enormous U.S. flag on a 109 foot pole, Las Vegas businessman Dan Towbin has been ordered to remove it.

It seems that some anonymous leftards don't want Towbin to be too patriotic. Jingoism just isn't vogue, you know.

Besides, a big ol' U.S. flag probably hacks off La Raza.

Neighbors claim that the flag is too high and flaps too loudly. However, Towbin put in noise meters to ensure that the sound is within tolerable levels.

I say the crisp snap of a bright U.S. flag is a beautiful sound!

Towbin, for his part, has a lawyer and is ready to fight the order.

From this source:

"The American flag stays," dealership owner Dan Towbin declared. "I'm not convinced that people are complaining because of noise. This is about vindictiveness and power."

Towbin says the 30-foot-by-60-foot flag fits with his over sized dealership selling over sized cars, but rejects opponents' claims that it's an advertising tool.

"All I can tell you is we never sold a vehicle based on a flag," he said.

The Definition of Dismal.

Isn't it funny how Congress likes to complain about the President, and mock his "historically low" approval ratings?

I find it even more funny now that Zogby has released a poll stating that while the President has a 24% approval rating when it comes to Iraq, the Congress has a mere 3%... And that's with a margin of error of +/-1.1%

That means that Congress could have an approval rating as low as 1.9%.

Read the whole thing here.

I wonder what would happen if I had a 1.9 to 3% approval rating at work...
