"On this day in 1976 the NASA Enterprise Shuttle received it's official dedication. Gene Roddenberry and most of The Original Series cast were on hand for this incredible event."
I find it offensive and saddening beyond measure that Obama has since gutted such a proud organization. No doubt Curiosity was so successfully executed in spite of him...

I remember this as though it happended yesterday. Being a space nut, I was elated about the shuttle program anyway, and adding the Trek theme was priceless!
Nothing good has been done by him or his administration. We need to show him the way out the door in November.
Well Brooke, nothing lasts forever ... except maybe Obama.
We are so shortsighted on our vision of space. We should be on our way to Mars now. With he thought that it is just a stepping stone.
William Shatner wasn't there? Oh, well.
I do remember this moment in 1976, our Bicentennial year.
And, now, Obama is tearing down our nation -- brick by brick.
Cube: I wasn't around yet, but I love seeing pics like this. I wish I could've been there!
USA: Lawrd, I hope so!
Jack: He will if he has his way...
Chuck: I agree. We should have an installation on the moon by now, at the very least, and on our way out there!
AOW: Maybe Shatner was standing right behind Nimoy? ;)
Wait and see what will happen if Obama gets reelected. An unfettered Obama won't be going brick by brick anymore; he will bring the wrecking ball!
Duhwon believes in dismantling anything that makes unique in this world.
I'm surprised at you guys! Isn't the most important thing NASA can do now is help the world understand and appreciate the Muslim contributions to science and space travel? For example, they develop Arabic numerals in the 8th century and after that...well, uh...and then there is the...uh....help me out here!
Shatner wasn't there that day. I think he was still trying to shake off his Star Trek image.
Odie: Anything that gives us pride, accomplishment, prosperity, ect... Anything good.
Gator: *sigh* I wish I could... The only contributions they've made that I can see is perfecting murder, plunder, rape and pedophilia.
Cube: Fuggetaboutit. Once you're cast in Trek, it's forever! Good thing Shatner has finally accepted that. I hope?
Brooke, Shatner has come around to the cash cow that is Trek.
Yes, you're right!
I remember the infamous, 'grow up and move out of your parent's basement' moment. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!
