It's what we call the news!

Fired For Jesus

Remember that little right that our forefathers sailed across the turbulent Atlantic in a rickety wooden ship to obtain?
Surely they would have freedom of religion in the New World, where they could practice their religion peacefully and openly.
Apparently that dream is being lost.
A Christian woman is battling a California university and state social agency for terminating her internship because she shared her faith with co-workers during off-hours. Jacqueline Escobar was completing a master's degree in social work at California State University Long Beach when she interned with the Department of Children and Family Services, or DCFS. A straight-A student, Escobar was complimented regularly by the DCFS for her work. But she came under scrutiny for sharing her faith with co-workers during lunch breaks and after-hours, and for changing into a shirt with a religious message – "Found" – after signing out for the day, according to the Pacific Justice Institute, which is representing her. A trial is scheduled to begin April 3. "Through this case, we hope to send a powerful message to government employers: you cannot trounce upon the First Amendment rights of people of faith and expect to get away with it," said Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute.
Escobar was directed to stop speaking about her faith, even during breaks and after work hours.
Also, the university ordered her to sign a document admitting she had "an inability to separate her religious beliefs from her role" as an intern.
She refused to sign the document, arguing she couldn't agree to such a sweeping prohibition that included her religious practice during non-working hours.
Consequently, Escobar was terminated from her internship and threatened with expulsion from the graduate program.
She then contacted Pacific Justice Institute and filed the federal suit.
Attorney Daniel R. Watkins argued freedom of religion is "the first and most fundamental constitutional right."
"Unfortunately, as this case illustrates, religious beliefs are under assault from every sector of government," he said. "It is our intent to ensure that people of faith working in government are afforded the protections our founding fathers intended."
Can you even imagine if this overt discrimination had happened to a Muslim worker? There would be hell to pay, and you can take that to the bank!
Can You Say V-E-T-O?

al-Qaeda has to be laughing their butts off.
Our bipolar Congress, supporting troop surge one minute and setting dates for withdraw, (aka: retreat) the next, has narrowly approved a cut-and-run bill scheduled to make us losers on September 1st, 2008.
That same bill is laden with $20 BILLION in pork. PORK!!! This from the same party who said we couldn't afford the President's tax cuts, which gave me back an infinitesimal amount of my own money.
Hey, no problem though... We'll just raise your taxes some, chumps.
President Bush has vowed to veto this Congressional atrocity because of the surrender date in it. I think that he should veto it on that, but he should do it on the amount of waste alone.
We'll see if Bush holds to his guns on this one. I'm not sure that he will; he's been without his cajones for quite awhile now.

The Queen Of Mean
I really wasn't going to post on Rosie O'Donnel, because her venemous attitude speaks volumes for itself.
However, her recent bout with Elizabeth Hasselbeck irritated me. How hypocritical is it for Rosie to tell Hasselbeck that she can't "blather on her opinion" on a show called The View, for pity's sake!
That being said, I just couldn't pass this up. (Let it load up for the full effect.)
I couldn't pass this up, either:

Just Another Isolated Incident...
I read a disturbing story this morning. I have reproduced it here; see if you notice anything... unusual.
Husband rips wife's eyes out after she refuses sex
A MAN who ripped out his wife's eyes in a fit of rage was sentenced by a French court to 30 years behind bars today. Mohamed Hadfi, 31, tore out his 23-year-old wife Samira Bari's eyes following a heated argument in their apartment in the southern French city of Nimes in July 2003 after she refused to have sex with him.
Ms Bari, who had demanded a divorce before the attack, was permanently blinded.
Hadfi, a Moroccan, initially fled to Germany. He was finally arrested and sent back to France, where he was indicted for "acts of torture and barbarity leading to a permanent disability".
Prosecutor Dominique Tourette demanded that Hadfi be sentenced to 30 years in prison, two thirds of which must be served in full, calling the defendant a "diabolic torturer".
Once his sentence is served, Hadfi will be deported and barred from ever returning to France. His lawyer Jean-Pierre Cabanes meanwhile insisted there were extenuating circumstances.
"This is the result of a marriage that was arranged, not chosen," he said, pointing to the gulf separating his client, who came from southern Morocco, and his young wife, who had grown up in France.
Mr Cabanes begged the jury for leniency, claiming his client's action "appeared to stem from a mental illness."
Did you notice it?
Let's see... Arab names, women being violently assaulted and treated as property, arraigned marriage, France...
It's pretty obvious, yet the MSM dares not mention that this crime was perpetrated by a Muslim!
Yah, the attack stemmed from mental illness alright... The mental illness that is Islam.
Move along, dhimmis... Nothing to see here.

Blatant Gun Post
As per 10Men's request, and to hack off leftards in general... I bring you:
The SIG 556!

No other semi-atuo rifle has captured the imagination of the shooting public like the SG550 series rifle. For years this legendary Swiss made rifle has been restricted to Law Enforcement and military sales where it has built is reputation for outstanding performance. accuracy and durability. Now the time has come for a US made, civilian legal version.
The SIG 556 features the same high-performance two position adjustable gas piston operating rod system engineered by SIG's sister company Swiss Arms and marries it to a trigger housing that not only cuts the rifles weight by a pound but is designed to accept standard AR magazines.
Originally developed to work under the extreme situational pressures and environmental conditions of the Swiss Army on alpine duty, the new SIG 556 delivers when it counts regardless of ammunition type and variances in gas pressure or case material.
The SIG 556 features a 16 military grade cold hammer forged barrel with a twist rate of 1 in 9. The barrel is locked to the steel receiver through a unique system that allows the user to easily change out the barrel.
The forearm housing the gas operating system is a vented non-slip polymer featuring the SIG TriRail design with three integrated Picatinny rails for mounting accessories. There is a forward mount for right or left side sling attachment. The flip up front combat sight is adjustable for windage and elevation.
The Picatinny rail equipped receiver is made of high strength carbon steel with a durable wear-resistant Nitron® X rifle finish. The trigger housing is made from a heat treated aircraft grade aluminum alloy with a hard-coat anodized finish designed to survive extreme conditions. The rifle comes equipped with a smooth two-stage trigger.
The SIG 556 also features an ambidextrous safety and is designed to accept standard AR magazines. A rugged 30-round polymer magazine is supplied with each rifle.
Spare battery compartments are provided in the ergonomically designed pistol grip as well as the rubber padded watertight adjustable butt stock. The butt stock also offers sling attachment points.
In addition to the standard model SIG 556 which will begin to ship in late summer of 2006, SIGARMS will also offer a SIG 556 L featuring a longer forearm but also equipped with the 16 barrel. The 556 L will be ideal for upgrading to the 20 barrel for more precision oriented shooting.
The third model planned to 2006 is the SIG 556 SWAT. The SWAT model will feature the same compact design of the standard SIG 556 with 16 barrel but will feature a flat top Picatinny railed receiver and a tactical quad rail.
Tell me you don't want one of these babies!

NeoCon Lies?

Guess what, everybody... I've got a fan site now!
Oh, boy. Aren't lefties the biggest crybabies on the face of the Earth? HA!
Oh, and let's not forget this place, where several of us are official Klanwatch members. Heh.
Constitutional Isn't Optional: Second Amendment

I read this story today and, as usual, had to check and make sure that I live in America, and that I had not fallen through a wormhole into some weird, alternate universe... 'Cause sometimes, it's as if the world has gone crazy and I'm the only sane one left.
Excerpted from this source, all red type mine:
ANTIOCH, Tenn.- Some people in a Nashville neighborhood are furious over a new rule that makes it illegal to own a gun.
Residents in Nashboro Village said it's unconstitutional and leaves them defenseless.
Two weeks ago, residents received a letter from their homeowners' association indicating that guns are not allowed on the property.
I, for one, have never liked the idea of a "home owner's association." It's moronic: You pay some preppy egomaniac down the street to tell you how your property should look? If I want to put a rusted-out car up on cinder blocks in my front yard and surround it by plastic flamingos, I'll do it. It's my property, dammit!!!
Two weeks ago, the property management company at Nashboro Village told its residents no more guns on the property.
I would invite these pea brained fascists to attempt to take my gun.
Not surprisingly, crime has been on the upswing in the neighborhood since the home owner's association went public with their blatantly unconstitutional rule:
Salajanu said that burglaries started to increase since late summer... She said she believes her neighborhood has changed since she moved in last year. "Three weeks ago someone was stopped at gunpoint," Salajanu said. "It seems the nature of those burglaries is becoming more dangerous."
Officials with Ghertner and Company, the property manager at Nashboro Village, would not make an on-camera comment about the gun policy but said they plan on changing the rule soon to allow firearms on the property. However, they would make it illegal to fire those guns, which residents say is still unconstitutional.
WHAT?!? Are the residents supposed to throw the frickin' handgun at the an attacker?!?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a illegal to just willy-nilly fire a gun withing most city limits in the first place? You can be damned sure that if I discharge my weapon, I am going to be killing someone. Neighbors said they understand the gun rule is meant to keep criminals out of Nashboro Village but they don't believe that prohibiting firearms is the best way to do that.
This may be way out there... But why not try criminal background checks to keep the criminals out of your neighborhood?
The stupidity of the left never ceases to amaze me. Do they honestly think that prohibiting guns is going to stop someone from illegally obtaining a weapon? Do they really think that they are above our Constitution?
I've got to remember where that wormhole is. I really need to stop stepping into it.
The Death Cult: Child "Martyrs" And Adult Cowards
I want to link to a couple of very good posts, one at Oleh Musings, and the other at The AmBoy Times.
This is evil that comes straight from the very bowels of Hell. There simply is no other way to describe it.

When will the Islamists wake up and care about their children as much as we do?
