If I were on Romney's council, I would tell him to release his tax documents (even though BBHSO hasn't released his birth certificate or college records) and be proud as HELL of being a rich Mo'FO!!!

Small Hiatus

Hi! I have taken a small blogging hiatus due to a new addition to the familia! Since the hubby and I are no longer adding human members to our household, and sadly, our Dane is now eight years on and slowing down considerably, we made a somewhat impromptu decision to get a new dog.

Yes, we went to the pound to simply renew our fascist dog licenses before the revenue collectors jack up the price by 100% at the end of the month when the kids asked to look (just look, riiiiiight) at the pound puppies in the back.

Of course, a horribly abused yet super-sweet Pittie caught our eyes and won our hearts. This is Dani:

She was removed from a evil person who delighted in chemically burning her shoulders (probably with batteries) and putting out cigarettes on her ears, which are now permanently scarred. Even so, she wants nothing more than some pats, food, and a warm blankie, but was languishing in the pound due to the stigma surrounding her breed.

So, while hubby and kids and I are instilling proper house manners in our new girl, posting and reading will be a bit light!

I have no recollection of who they were playing or if they won. I could look it up, but as my previous posts states, I'm just way too lazy right now.

If things go wrong, I'll be crying into my salsa later tonight. Spicy, spicy salsa. Then comes the crash diet. My Bengals shirt is getting snug, seriously.

Poor Fortune. That look she's giving the camera has pretty much been the look nonstop since Dave and I put the e-collar on her.

She went out in the yard and somehow managed to tear a quarter-sized chunk of skin off her chest. After two days of her incessant licking it was starting to look infected, so Dave held her head, I collared her up, cleaned the wound with peroxide and soap and put polysporin on it. Hopefully, she won't be able to lick it and it will heal with regular cleaning.

What is not yet as widely known about Perry is that he extends his taxpayer-funded compassion not only to illegal aliens but also to Muslim groups seeking to whitewash the violent history of that religion. Perry endorsed and facilitated the adoption in Texas public schools of a pro-Muslim curriculum unit developed by Muslim clerics in Pakistan.

Perry’s connections to Muslim groups in Texas are well documented. A recent Christian Science Monitor story said, “Perry has attended a number of Ismaili events in Texas, brokered a few agreements between the state and Ismailis (including the legislation introducing Islamic curricula into Texas schools), and even laid the first brick at the groundbreaking ceremony for an Ismaili worship center in Plano in 2005.”

The Muslim Histories and Cultures (MHC) project was formalized in 2004 in a signed agreement between the University of Texas at Austin and Aga Khan University in Pakistan. The announcement of the MHC project credited Gov. Perry by name with being “instrumental” in its launch.

The agreement calls for an extensive program of bi-cultural teacher training funded jointly by both parties. More than 200 Texas teachers have been trained in the program, which is ongoing. The project’s curriculum units were initially available for viewing on the university’s website, but have since been scrubbed from the Internet. It appears Texas officials do not want the curriculum examined by Texas taxpayers.

Islam scholar Robert Spencer, head of Jihad Watch, examined the program and concluded, “The curriculum is a complete whitewash and it’s got the endorsement of Perry. It’s not going to give you any idea why people are waging jihad against the West — it’s only going to make you think that the real problem is ‘Islamophobia.’”

Perhaps Spencer exaggerates the curriculum’s bias? Examine it for yourself here.

Perry’s close ties to Muslim groups led the political blog Salon to headline a recent story: “Rick Perry: The pro-Sharia candidate?” Evidence in support of that theme comes from Gov. Perry’s refusal to support legislation sponsored by Texas Republican legislators to outlaw Sharia law in Texas.

Stocky stock broker Martin Kessman is suing White Castle for being unable to fit his 290lb frame into the chain’s stationary booths.

The 64-year-old claims he injured himself at a White Castle in Nanuet, New York, while trying to “wedge” himself into one of the establishment’s table-seat combos.

Kessman wrote the company to complain, and says HQ sent him back “three very condescending letters” with coupons for free hamburgers. After waiting two years for White Castle to make good on a promise to expand seating space, Kessman decided enough was enough, and filed a lawsuit against the company asking for bigger booths and an unspecified amount in damages.

According to Kessman, White Castle is in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. “I just want to sit down like a normal person,” he says.

Don't worry Mr. President... A neighbor down the street is an avid gardener, and every time he harvests he passes out veggies to the kids that ride by on their bikes; he grows more than he can use.
