Human Rights Activists?

Hat tip again to the Religion of Peace:

Unbelievable dhimmitude!

Babies and Guns!

It's been a busy weekend! The hubby went out and qualified for CCW, and now only has to fill out the sheriff's application to be legal to carry. Because his weapon is a SA Colt that only fires hardball rounds, we had to go out and get a weapon he can carry everyday!

Not being much of a Glock or 1911 fan, he wound up with a Bersa ultra-compact .45. I like it... I might steal it when he isn't looking. LOL!

Now we just have to start stocking up on ammo.

And of course, all the firing I had to clean and oil the weapons. Since I was doing one, it turned into, "I may as well do them all," and wound up doing all four.

Another exciting and incredible thing going on is that my brother and sister are having a baby in about one month!

In honor of their impending joy, I would like to post this handy reference guide to infant care:

Hey, it's gotten me through three times now. ;)

The Illiterate Scholar?

This news story blows my mind. My six-year-old daughter attending first grade has a good grasp on the written word already.

John Corcoran graduated from college and taught high school for 17 years without being able to read, write or spell.

----------------------------------------------

Corcoran later attended Palo Verde High School in Blythe, Calif. He cheated his way through high school, receiving his diploma in June 1956.

"When I was a child I was just sort of just moved along. When I got to high school I wanted to participate in athletics. At that time in high school I went underground. I decided to behave myself and do what it took. I started cheating by turning in other peoples' paper, dated the valedictorian and ran around with college prep kids," said Corcoran.

"I couldn't read words but I could read the system and I could read people," adds Corcoran.

He stole tests and persuaded friends to complete his assignments. Corcoran earned an athletic scholarship to Texas Western College. He said his cheating intensified, claiming he cheated in every class.

"I passed a bluebook out the window to a friend I painstakingly copied four essay questions off the board in U.S. government class that was required, and hoped my friend would get it back to me with the right answers," Corcoran said.

In 1961, Corcoran graduated with a bachelor's degree in education, while still illiterate he contends. He then went on to become a teacher during a teacher shortage.

"When I graduated from the university, the school district in El Paso, where I went to school, gave almost all the college education graduates a job," said Corcoran.

For 17 years Corcoran taught high school for the Oceanside School District. Relying on teacher's assistants for help and oral lesson plans, he said he did a great job at teaching his students.

"What I did was I created an oral and visual environment. There wasn't the written word in there. I always had two or three teacher's assistants in each class to do board work or read the bulletin," said Corcoran.

In retrospect, Corcoran said, his deceit took him a long time to accept.

"As a teacher it really made me sick to think that I was a teacher who couldn't read. It is embarrassing for me, and it's embarrassing for this nation and it's embarrassing for schools that we're failing to teach our children how to read, write and spell!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It wasn't until he was 48 years old that he gave reading and writing another chance. He drove to an inconspicuous office with a sign he couldn't read. He studied and worked with a tutor at the Literacy Center of Carlsbad. Assigned to a 65-year-old volunteer tutor, Eleanor Condit, he was able to read at a sixth-grade level within a year.

I wonder how many students passed through this guy's class. I wonder how many students he failed? I wonder if those children regarded his class as an "easy A?"

The fact that the left and the NEA is dead-set against requiring teachers to pass competency tests is appalling. Such a test, if conducted in an environment in which this guy couldn't cheat would have weeded Corcoran  out, and others like him.

The left likes to attack "big oil" and other large corporations, yet they fuel a corrupt, money sucking industry of their own, riddled with waste and incompetency; "big education."

To fuel it, leftists tax your home and then saddle you with ballooning college costs so that their professor buddies can sit fat and indoctrinate your kids, teaching them what to think and not how to think.

Compared to that, $3.00 per gallon gasoline doesn't seen as bad. I say if the Dems want real change, they should take the profits from and reduce the cost of tuition for "BIG EDUCATION."

Hey, Berkley! Listen Up!

Here's a little something dedicated to the Code Pinkos in Berkley.

I'm just sayin'.

Target Rich Environment

Today, Hezbollah is going to plant Moughniyah.

From this source, all emphasis mine:

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Lebanon's Hezbollah holds a mass funeral for its assassinated commander Imad Moughniyah, one of the United States' most wanted men, in Beirut on Thursday amid calls for revenge against its sworn enemy Israel.

The Jewish state put its embassies and other interests abroad on high alert and boosted troop deployments on the Lebanese border for fear of reprisal.

Hezbollah and its main backer Iranaccused Israel of killing Moughniyah in a bomb blast in Syria on Tuesday. The Israeli government rejected the charge, though its Mossad spy service had long sought to kill him.

Big crowds are expected in Beirut's Shi'ite Muslim southern suburb to bid farewell to Moughniyah, a guerrilla seen as a legend by Hezbollah but on the U.S. most wanted list accused of killing hundreds in attacks on Israeli and Western targets.

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki is expected to attend the funeral.

So a big chunk of Hezbollah, it's supporters and an Iranian official are all going to be in the same place? Just think of all the money our military will save on munitions when we bomb all these asshats with one stone!

At least, that's what we would do if we had any sense...

Pat Condell: Response to the Archbishop Insanity

I've posted a few things by Mr. Condell before. He's a quick-witted Brit who isn't afraid to speak exactly what's on his mind, and his latest is well worth your time.

Hamas Bunny Spreads the "Love."

Ever since Farfur Mouse 'martyred' himself (praise be to allah or whatever), Hamas has been searching for new talent to take his place.

Thank goodness they've found it:

Assud the Rabbit.

That's right. Now your little crumb-crusher can continue learning jihad, hatred and anti-Semitism, all without missing a beat. Thank you, religion of peace!

JERUSALEM - Hamas has reached a new low in its cartoon brainwashing of kids to kill Israelis: a Bugs Bunny look-alike who declares, "I will eat the Jews!"

Assud the rabbit is the newest star of "Tomorrow's Pioneers," a Hamas-authorized kids show that airs on Gaza TV and is beamed around the Arab world.

The 6-foot bomber bunny appeared on camera in recent days with a head-scarf-wearing little girl named Saraa.

She sits listening entranced to the rabbit's rants.

"I, Assud, will finish off the Jews and eat them," he hisses.

"Allah willing!" Saraa says.

It's the latest use of cuddly figures by Hamas terrorists "to teach hate and violence," said Itamar Marcus, director of Palestinian Media Watch.

"This program is telling us that they see children as tools in their propaganda and their war," Marcus said. "They have no problem stealing their children's youth."

Before Assud, Hamas' use of a Mickey Mouse character called Farfur to preach hate gained worldwide condemnation.

The producers of the show later told kids that Farfur had been beaten to death by Israeli soldiers.

A short-lived bee character called Nahul was also killed off recently - his death blamed on Israelis preventing him from reaching a hospital to get urgent medical treatment.

The same electricity that Israel supplies to Gaza is used by the terrorist TV broadcasters to beam the hatred, Marcus noted.

Sharia Law Inevitable?

According to the Archbishop of Canterbury, "certain parts" of Sharia law are "unavoidable" and will "help maintain social cohesion" in Britain.

I wonder which parts of Sharia law are inevitable? The financing of polygamy that AOW so recently pointed out? Or are the honor killings and female genital mutilation inevitable? Perhaps stoning and beating

The Archbishop should really be more specific. Some folks who like their infidel ways are
pretty pissed about this.

And of course, here are the supporters of Sharia law to show you just how they feel about the inevitability of Islamic law:

Bush Calls McCain a "True Conservative."

I'm going to have to get a lobotomy to make this kind of stuff make sense:

WASHINGTON - John McCain is a "true conservative," President Bush says, although the likely Republican presidential nominee may have to work harder to convince other conservatives that he is one of their own.

McCain "is very strong on national defense," Bush said in an interview taped for airing on "Fox News Sunday." "He is tough fiscally. He believes the tax cuts ought to be permanent. He is pro-life. His principles are sound and solid as far as I'm

 concerned."

But when asked about criticism of McCain by conservative commentators Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, the president said, "I think that if John is the nominee, he has got some convincing to do to convince people that he is a solid conservative and I'll be glad to help him if he is the nominee."

Bush said some of the criticism of the Arizona senator was the result of "pro

bably, some personal animosity toward me. You can't please all the people all the time."

So let me get this straight: Bush, a "compassionate conservative," which is really a moderate, open borders, prescription drug-passing big spender is calling McCain, a pro-amnesty, free speech limiting, global warming advocate a true conservative?!?

Well, now we know it must be true. *snicker*

Oh, and we hate McCain because of Bush? Put the ego down, sir! I am perfectly capable of disliking people on their own merit.

By the way, has anyone else

noticed that Hillary has cried publicly exactly before each primary for the last three weeks now?

Mitt Is Out?

If preliminary reports are correct and Mitt Romney is withdrawing from the primaries, then I will gladly vote Huckabee in the Ohio primary on March 4th.

If Huckabee is still around by then.

He's a helluva lot better choice than RHINO McCain.

That is all.

Way to Dodge the Question, Hill!

Cough, cough, *fake* cough, cough:

Pity-Party Wednesday.

I have awoken in with a political hangover and find that John McCain has run away with the Republican nomination.
Republicans will soon roll over, barely sober, and find that Juan McCain is no conservative;
not at all the girl they drunkenly thought was pretty before they chucked their principles and climbed into the sack.
"Que sera, sera..."
I am now taking wagers on who will be McCain's pick for Vice President.

I'll start the betting on Joe Lieberman.

Any takers?

The ROP Does It Again:

Look at this 'Palestinian' boy, passing out candy and flowers. Isn't Islam beautiful and peaceful?

Too bad the reason for the candy and flowers is the celebration of another couple of 'martyrs.'

One of the brave shaheed blew himself up in a southern Israeli shopping center yesterday, and the other was shot to death by police before he could do the same.

It's so nice to see that President Bush's cute little peace plan is working. Only one Israeli died in this attack.

I wonder if any boys passed out sweets to honor the two Down's Syndrome women that the 'religion of peace' blew up by remote earlier this week?

It's A Political Zoo:

Clinton health plan may mean tapping pay
By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Writer
Sun Feb 3, 11:40 AM ET

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080203/ap_on_el_pr/campaign_rdp_31

WASHINGTON -
Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.

The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."

Clinton said such measures would apply only to workers who can afford health coverage but refuse to buy it, which puts undue pressure on hospitals and emergency rooms. With her proposals for subsidies, she said, "it will be affordable for everyone."

Clinton also suggested that Obama would be more susceptible to Republican attack ads in a general election because he has not been scrutinized for years as she has.

"I've been through the Republican attacks over and over again," she said. When Obama was elected to the Senate from Illinois in 2004, she said, he "didn't face anyone who ran attack ads" comparable to those aimed at her.

The presidential contenders in both parties campaigned all-out on Sunday, two days before the Super Tuesday voting in 24 states holding primaries or caucuses.

Clinton was campaigning in Missouri and Minneapolis. Obama scheduled a rally in Wilmington, Del., while some of his highest-profile surrogates — his wife, Michelle, Oprah Winfrey and Caroline Kennedy — were rallying voters in Los Angeles. Among Republicans, Arizona Sen. John McCain was stumping in Connecticut and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney scheduled stops in Glen Ellyn, Ill., and the St. Louis suburb of Maryland Heights. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was concentrating on the South, with appearances in Georgia and Tennessee.

McCain told "Fox News Sunday" he would veto any tax increase passed by a Democratic-controlled Congress. McCain, who opposed President Bush's first two tax cuts, now says Congress should make the reductions permanent, and that there also should be further tax reductions for business investments.

His chief rival, Romney, told the ABC program that McCain "doesn't understand the economy" and that his advocacy of a higher gasoline tax to combat global warming would hurt U.S. consumers.

Romney also called on Huckabee to drop from the race. In response, called the suggestion "ludicrous," noting that only a fraction of the delegates needed to win the Republican presidential nomination had been apportioned thus far.

"I've got a different take on that. I think it's time for Mitt Romney to step aside," Huckabee said on CNN.

Isn't this fantastic? You get to be told whether or not you can afford health care, and then be garnished for it, as if the gov't doesn't get enough money from your paycheck. Yeah for HillaryCare! Yeah for communism!

Meanwhile, Huckabee continues to gum up the electoral process.

Hell, I might as well just go on welfare. It will be far more equitable if Hillary, Obama or McCain take office!
